jbird,Call your leather supplier and get a side of 6-7 oa latigo and strip them out of it.Some leather supp;iers have pre cut strings.Buying a side will let you deside how wide you want them.Tie downs are going to be wider than saddle strings,

Wade vs. Weatherly vs. 3B
Steve Brewer replied to loopinluke's topic in Saddle Supplies, Tools & Trees
Where to start,A 3 b is usually made on 3 1/2" stock for the swell, while the wade is cut out of 4 to 5" stock. The wades of today have changed alot from the original. Most tree makers have thier own version. The tree maker I use has 4 different styles of Wade,Homestead,Wade 58,Hamley Wade, and a cliff wade. You will need to talk with the tree maker and find the one that works for you. Thanks JW

Kieth,I see a lot of torn leathers both horizonal and vertical. Most were torn by hanging up a sturrip loading in and out of trailers or trucks.I see more problems with the sleeves eating latigos . I see your point on the hole spacing, laced leathers tend to wear well. Steve
