Hi do you still have this machine? I am interested in it. do you have any pictures of it?
-
This machine uses the same needle as the Landis 1. The needle size you need is the Schmetz 331and needle size 7x1 will also fit. Needles are available from the Landis Sales Co. Phone 217 543 3464. Hang on to your wallet. I have a box of the 160 7x1 needles they have a ball end but they will work for leather.

Just an update. The auction closed today. The machine sold for 799.00. Lock stitch, Walking foot class7 3/4" or 1" under pressor foot. Heck of a buy.

You don't do horse tack or you would know the need for such a machine. The tug line on a buggy harness is around 3/4". The tug line on a pulling harness set is around 1" to 1 1/4". The Singer 97-10 is capable of sewing 1 1/4" material. The older machines are capable of the same. The Landis #1 can sew just about the same thickness. The needle diameter is around .125 or a little larger and sews with a #7 cord. I hope this helps.

It looks like a Juki walking foot. As far as the larger thread is concerned you can only try it and see if it will work. I would try a 207 on top with the 138 in the bobbin. The machine will sew what ever you can get under the pressor foot. It sounds and looks as though you have a very nice machine. From the pictures it is doing a terrific job for you. The dog collars are super.

I assume you rare referring to the 111w155. There are no options on the machine other than what came from the factory. I have one of these machines. It sews very good. It is a flat bed walking foot with reverse paid 285.00 for it 4 years ago. The largest thread you can get on it is 92. I reduced the speed to around 300 spm (made the reducer myself). I do not use the oil pan that came with the machine. It isn't needed with the slower speed. Overall it is a very good machine. I hope this helps.

Sandal And Shoe Making

You should check out the video's that are loaded on Youtube.com -
Mr. Hatley is correct, engrave a brass plate with the name on it and rivet it to the collar. Latigo does not like stamping Either that or change the type of leather you make your dog collars from.

You need to find someone that sells reloading supplies. You are looking for bird shot for the .357 magnum pistol round. this I believe is the closest you will get to "lead powder". Of course this is a long shot to find what you need.

A friend of mine is a machinist. I asked him to rework my old 22 oz. maul to make it heavier. He showed up last night with the following "rework". He explained that the only part of the old maul that remained was the main shaft.. The photos are obvious of his skills there are no tool surfaces on this maul. The handle will not loosen from use. It's weight 3 lbs. 5 ozs.. Inch and one half handle. It is 9 inches in length made of red brass and a different type of material the the head. I don't recall what he said it is. Needless to say he totally surprised me!!!!!!!!!

It is called a 3 in 1. I only found two tools on the one I had. A skiver and a cutting wheel. As far as the value it is what ever the traffic will stand. I paid 50.00 for the one I had. I bought it at an auction also. I would be interested in buying it if you don't have it sold already. I hope this was helpful.

I don't know about the brown but I have used their black harness. It was a good quality material

I don't think this qualifies as thread. It looks more like a cord of some sort maybe 5 or 6

Don't blame Vernon Weaver or any other Weaver. Vernon sold the business last year or maybe year before last. I am no longer allowed to purchase stuff from them because I did not have a tax number on file when the new owners took over. That is ok with me there are lots of other very nice folks that will sell you leather and leather working tools a lot of the time cheaper than Weavers.

Ya' know people have gone to jail for stealing less than that. GREAT find.

At Wit's End... Finding A Tacsew T111-155 Manual
busted replied to QDaddy's topic in Leather Sewing Machines
The Singer 111w155 is almost the same machine. This is a link to the manual. http://parts.singerco.com/IPinstManuals/111W152_153_154_155.pdf -
The name "oil tan" is deceptive. There are certain types of hot wax and hot oils that are added to the tanning process of this leather. It is not simply dunked in oil. If you did dunk it in oil it would require a time for the excess oil to drain from the hide, even if it did drain properly you would in fact rub oil on everything you touched. You need to purchase a piece of the oil tan to see what it actually is and what the name means. The Lakotaman is right don't make a shirt by dunking it in oil. You will have one huge mess.

Need help repairing Singer 112W139 stitch length mechanism

Did you get this machine working properly yet? If not here is a link you might be interested in Index of /IPpartChart -
I had a similar problem a couple of years ago. I bought a new draw knife from Osborne it is the generic aluminum handle. It would not cut a straight line to save my posterior. I put a straight edge on the side of the handle where the leather is supposed to ride. I could see daylight between the straight edge and handle frame. Not good. I took my trusty Makita grinder and proceeded to make a flat spot on the rear of the handle. 1/8" later and the handle was parallel with the knife. No more wandering and crooked cuts. I hope that helps. I don't use scissors to much unless it is light weight material 2 or 3 oz. I have found one other thing wrong with this knife. I will fix that too. The ruler that slides through the end of the knife acts just like a teeter totter, it will move up and down at least 1/8" too. This causes a bevel on the edge of the leather instead of a clean straight cut. I guess you get what you pay for.
