  1. JLSleather

    H.o. , W/c

Lemme know if there's any interest in some good size pieces of veg tan leather. I've got some drum dyed skirting from W/C and some natural tooling from H.O. The W/C is "standard" (#1) grade, and the HO is "B". Most is 7/8 or 8/9, but I think I have a bit of other weights to clean out. I'll be taking a break in a couple of weeks, and I want to clear and re-organize the shop. So this is not discounted leather, it's just the chance to buy smaller pieces than whole sides. I'll have some single shoulders (where I bought backs and cut off the bends) and some long pieces which would be good for straps / collars. There'll be pics as I get to it.. but holler if you'd like a particular piece.
  2. Lots of personalized lately.
  3. There.. no coupon needed.. prices already reduced on the patterns! Lew.. I can't get your pictures to open!
  4. Nope, aint got that one Bill. The Mk II been on my list for a bit, but had some time-sensitive (Christmas) projects to get out!
  5. Okay, I'll bite. Holster patterns in the shop ... let's say.. oh.... 40% off to members of this site. Today only... prices all reduced.. no worries!
  6. Just by way of a reminder ... Duncan's has 'dummy' mags at $15 every day (but not the Bobergs )
  7. http://www.goligerleather.com/index.html H.O. leather, quick http://stleather.com/ online catalog is about useless, but the leather and service are good
  8. Folks over at Tx Custom Dies advertisin' a sale on 1" english point strap punches. that's a GREAT price -- if a guy needs one, might wanna git in on this ...

  10. I spray it - but I thin it a bit more, and use a fairly large airbrush tip (not sure the measurement), and clean the brush after each use. Works good, but I usually don't mess with it until I have at least 3 projects ready for finish coat --- just not going to bother with cleaning for each item (unless it's large, in which case pay no attention to the previous ) So, maybe 40/60 (more filtered water than acrylic), + large nozzle, + about 40 psi
  11. Alrightey then No Glock 42 / LaserLyte No P238 Crimson Trace No Sig Mosquito No Boberg mags. Maybe we all got the same dummies?
  12. Long as it's fairly decent looking, I'm gonna say you're right, Bob. I order without the belly portion (except bridle leather, I aint sure why ). And in those small pre-cut things in one of the stores, I advertise it as "no belly leather"! That way, me and some others with basically no skills have SOME hope of putting out one decent project
  13. Art is trying to explain, you likely won't find ONE machine that will sew 2 oz and 20 oz equally.
  14. At 20 oz leather and 207 and 277 thread, get the 3200. Simple.
  15. 'Preciatecha fellas One more gal wanting basically that same thing. Woulda been nice ta know that a couple days ago.. ah, well ....
  16. Without being overly specific, I'm odd man out here. I do sometimes order things there, but for leather I prefer to go to W/C (for drum dyed and bridle) or H.0. (for tooling / holsters). Much more consistent orders.. no "oops.. let us fix that ...". Still, I'd be willing to chip in to have the SCL girls calendar printed up ... :
  17. I'm a big fan of W/C leathers, but the belly is great for trash can lining (and that's about it). Incidentally, if that's the co you're referrring to, it IS cheaper to have the belly removed (buying backs).
  18. Welcome... and thanks for the shout!
  19. OH.. thanks Rudi .. for the comments AND for reminding me that I always give credit where due. I would guess Mr. and Mrs. Stohlman like that people are still making that one! Incidentally, that book (how to make holsters) lists this as a .357, which covers a LOT of territory! I think 'back in the day' this was intended for the Model 28 N-frame revolver (educated guess only). This one, I 'kicked it in' a bit to suit that 686 L-frame. Oh, yeah --- I know that isn't a 'matched set'.. the belt went to someone else
  20. Yeah.. gittin some of the stuff cleared out (finally). Every year I clean out, offer some odd lots and left overs and pieces, maybe a few belt straps, to the boys who don't want to buy a whole cow. This year, I'm doing that BEFORE the end of the year inventory (hey, even I can have a good idea every 10 years or so! ) So, here's where the scraps are getting used up ... But that aint the 'show off' part o things. Standard "production work" from old designs I still get asked to do time to time. The COOL thing.. in the process of clearing and cleaning, I found almost a full side of 3/4 oz HO "B" iI forgot I had!
  21. No mosquito? How about folks with Boberg mags?
  22. That looks great!
  23. Lookin' pretty good I just turned down makin' one o those... didn't have the light (or any real desire to go get one!). If I knew you had one I coulda REFERRED you! I get punches down there too, work great. Punches that you don't have to sharpen BEFORE you use them, almost unheard of any more. They've made dies for me, too -- great service, great turnaround time, and very reasonable (maybe i should add a disclaimer that I don't work for them? ) Your treatment of the thumb break is a little different... I like it.
  24. Any Sig Mosquito folks out there?
