Thank You RWP. -
I needed to build up inventory for a Craft Market. Also to expand on what I can do.The leather is to thick and I left a smudge on left inside card holder. The stitch line is off. so on to the next one.
-
I would also want to thank you. I am about to stitch everything together. This is out of 4-5oz kind of thick. thinned the center down on interior and exterior pieces. Did put a crack on the outside one, but fixable? Joe

Gator Wallet
Stewart replied to Stewart's topic in Purses, Wallets, Belts and Miscellaneous Pocket Items
Thank you Bob. it's a Nice 3 piece wallet kit. Hope to have it displayed this Saturday a Community Market Craft Fair. -
This kit was on sale and I needed to add to my pattern inventory. The leather had a unique texture to it and being in Florida, well it was a natural . Lot of possibilities in tooling and redesigning of wallet. Will see what develops.

Well it's hard to say. My Dad said" I 'll give you back to the Indians" than He said "The Gypsies" So I am ether from the USA or Romanian.

My Version Of A Tanker's Holster.

Thank you Camano, Rohn and Subby. I felt more comfortable with that style than traditional. -
NV. Thought of that. The Fobs and baseballs attracted a few looks. I think I overwhelmed them with having so much out at one time. Next time I will be selective. The crowd was few as being the second time as a Market. What did puzzle me was it was at a Church and the Bible type stuff did not get a look at. The kids did not even check out the baseballs. Had a feeling that they thought they were all import stuff.

There is a lot of good information that's been posted here. Seems that the prices are inline. My show was last Saturday. sold 2 fobs and order for one more and 2 orders for baseballs. Those are to be seen yet. This was the second time the Market/ Craft event has been held. So I am on the ground floor and my table is next to the check in table. So it's encouraging that that's where they want me. Only two crafters there. A lady with a spinning wheel doing sheep's wool into yearn and I. The rest was made up of food vendors-Honey sellers and herbs for health.

Well off the Toons bug for now. Working towards doing western themes a step at a time. There is a lot of ideas to incorporate in to a portrait that you could put on a larger item. Corrals ,arenas and landscapes that you can include cattle or horses. So it's one step at a time. So before I destroy a good piece of leather, I will do these and add as space allows. Use the better one as displays.

Well I went and committed to a booth. If I can sell Truck parts to truckers than I should also see there, less the cussing! Have a Flyer,it's required to show your Name. So who knows

Thank you all. NakLumb, Not really, The more you do the neater the stiches are. I use 4-5oz leather and to me the thickness throws the measurements off enough to wonder if it will be too small and pull the stiches . That has happen. Over compensating creates a lot of shrinking, sometimes not enough. So it took a few to get comfortable with the measurements. Than the stitching improved.

Just a few of the things I have done. Getting ready to do a Giants baseball. Than one for who ever wins.

The manufactures of the rivets will do it. All brake shoe manufactures and companies that reline shoes have the heads stamped for recognition and warranties. Your problem might be the quantity that you would have to buy I worked for Tampa brake and supply in Tampa Fla. Ours was stamped with "TBS". There was 2 other reliners in town, so if a brake shoe failed it was easy to determined if it was yours or another's Those rivets came in a 100# keg-lot of rivets. We also had unmarked that we sold by the 100"s by weight..

Still Doing Coasters
Stewart replied to Stewart's topic in Purses, Wallets, Belts and Miscellaneous Pocket Items
Michelle-- There is a lot to that question.question. I haven't sold a set of coasters yet. I just ordered my 5th 25 pack. I would say that I ruined 1 whole pack to mistakes. some were learning and the rest to going past what I could do at the time. For me, they are great pieces to practice on. No wasted leather. I give them away to friends, family and my Mentor for advice and progress. My sister uses theres Cause they and their friends are Gator fans . Also that gives me ideas for themes. Those are used and no problems. The others are displays. I use super sheen and 3-4 coats. Now I am doing them to use as displays at craft shows to show off what I can do. Feel it's better than setting out finished products that might not sale because of the themes. Will do some generic things to show I can sew.. I did do a coaster for my wife's sister that had a problem. She wanted a crazy Bird. I got to close to her personality and had to do a Bunny rabbit to replace it. So I really did not answer the question of feasibility because they say there to beautiful to use. I will have to test one when I make a mistake. Thank you for your complement LNLeather --- Thank you also for your complement and your response. Joe -

Just completing these two. The Skull is waiting for a decision of colors to use to finish. I figure that using them for displays at crafts shows will show the diversity of my work that can be applied to Journals, wallets-book covers and Etc... -
