Ibuck, how an unusual design. To me it's like when you take a persons photo and held a hand over one side of the eyes and the appearance changes. Looks like to different people. That's what came to my mind . A intersting way to sublimital a future customer. Joe

Thanks , As far as finishing- just going to seal it. Well when I buy tools, it for looks not correct application. I just stepped into a new world. Getting rid oh halos around letters and characters. What i thought would do it does not. Now i have to brake an old habit. Read instructions for correct usage of tools and what they are maid for. It's a simple carving. nothing fancy. Just wanted to get as close to the picture as could. Is any tooling simple? A stroke is the same on a letter as on a single line. What is funny is that I thought doing small on coasters will improve what i do on larger pieces. Well the mistakes are just larger. That's just not right. Joe

Well could not find other one. This is what i bought A $5.00 holder and tore a part. Front side and back side the same. Just cut a half round to insert pipe. Belt clip on back side-metal. Nice choice of leather. I just done a Tandy kit and i put the pocket between the back flap and zippered part. Yours looks corect with the pocket on the snap side. Thats just the way I am, Backwards. Joe

Well this is where I am at. The top board is weired. May put nail hole in it. May put a touch of brown color on the letters. Had problems with the leather. It spooned like clay. I just wiped a spong over it. Not submerged. Worked outside -not cold here -in the 70's. Anyway just keep going. Joe

Yes this a practice piece. Will be colored lightly I traced the all the petal on the rose. Should have done just the prominent ones only. Figured that i get all the mistakes out of the way on this one. Joe

David, I pulled more stitches out than I actually stitched. 3 yards of thread- left hand had no idea what the right was doing.Only thing lacking was a kitten. Broke 2 needles-3 band aids. What I actually accomplished was my cussing skills. Joe

This is from a Tandy's kit. If some one ask me to do another one I may have to say "Hell No". You all that hand stitch may not be getting your moneys worth.There is a way to stitch that the stitching looks straight. Found out a the last 5 holes. Thanks for looking. Joe

Well it is Tax toime,so i will look tofor it while going through papers for taxes. I did not use it cause of the length. I bought a cheap one,took apart and made template from it. Joe

Tandy has a You tube of doing that which you maybe able to adapt.. I am working on leaving aa white paint on a dyed tooled impression. My mentor has explaned,so it is up to my workmanship. Joe

Thank you guys, That was horse hide. Mod Podge sealed. I have four coasters with Ozark southpaw with a tobacco pipe in the middle. A flask with Franks Whiskey on it. Than A biker wallet. That is going to be a giant step for me.I might have to send my Mentor a gift card from his favorite liquor store cause he will probably need it. What I realy want to do is a Florida Bob Cat laying on a tree limb with moss hanging down. That's in the future. I still have a long way to go as far as skill level goes. The wood grains are fun to do, I found a swivil blade i had from the 70's Wide and thick. that should do some good grains and spider web designs. Joe

Just finished and shipped. Did clean up the lettering. The boarder got weird. The guy likes it. I do have the Ok to copy. I aint ther yet . Time will tell Joe
