  1. So I completed this seat today. 4/5 oz leather laced with kangaroo. The weave is 2/3 oz leather
  2. LeatherLegion It was based off the Tandy pattern but I modified it some to get the biker style vest. It was a good starting point as I had no idea how to design a vest. I took the pattern to staples and had copies made so in case I screwed it up I still had pattern, then I transferred to poster board and made modifications. Cyber thanks for the insight on the lacing. I was having issue with pulling tight as the leather was twisting, any suggestions on pulling lace tight on this type of leather?
  3. Thanks all. It was fun now I'm on lookout for any other deals on this type of leather
  4. Thanks all. There a couple mistakes but no ones has noticed them but every time I look at it my eye goes right to it. It was a good learning project for sure. I think I might make another with left over leather.
  5. I picked up some nice 4/5 oz black pebble leather and decided I needed a new vest. This was the out come I still need to install the zipper and I'm done. I tooled the front panels and double looped laced it. The liner I had made it is my company logo.
  6. So I was in a local Tandy leather and found this pink faux alligator cow hide for $20 I really didn't need it and never know what I would make out of it until the wife's birthday was around the corner and I asked for her opinion on the bag without her knowing it was for her. Well she loves it.
  7. I haven't had any issues with the lace vs stich assembly. I apply barge cement to all pieces to be laced.
  8. olds cool that is a meander stamp on the center sheath
  9. Thanks Bluesman this one was fun and challenging due to the thickness of the leather I used tubular rivets as I don't think they will ever come loose.
  10. I agree with Mlapaglia I use SNO SEAL on all my outdoor leather it works great. I instruct my customers to apply once a year.
  11. Spinner as always I love your stuff!!! I might ride that prototype around abit I think without a secure closure that flap might be flapping in the wind.....
  12. Made this from 9/10 Herman Oak and laced up with Kangaroo.
  13. Here is a new tool bag completed. I made this from 9/10 oz Herman oak and laced up with kangaroo. Its 10.5" long.
  14. Beautiful would you mind sharing the weight of the leather you used?
  15. Thanks Dwight. He didn't want there to be a chance that the knife would fall out as he is dangling from a helicopter.
  16. I was commissioned to make this for a lineman. He installs high voltage power lines in the most remote locations. This will fit on his rigging gear upside down when he is flying high in the air. It has pull the dot snaps. Made it from 6/7 Herman Oak.
  17. Thanks all I use Fiebings dye and I dilute heavily with denatured alcohol. I use an airbrush and build up color one shade at a time. then I use RTC resist and then antique it. I finished seal with RTC or sometimes Saddle Lac.
