  1. To stop verdigris you have to keep it dry. If you look up the chemistry, you'll find it contains H2O. So how do you keep a belt or other items worn on the body and especially sweaty, hot, humid conditions? That's really the problem you have to sort out.
  2. As always, nice job and fresh ideas!
  3. Just add onto this thread with your new info or requirements.
  4. Moved to Leather Machinery
  5. Moved to leather sewing machines so all the sewing machine fellows can see and appreciate your work.
  6. You should also recognize that the slower the induction motor goes, the lower the torque. And as the speed is reduced, so is the motor cooling. If you don't have experience with sewing leather, you will find that you are likely to want to go to lower speeds than your VFD will run the motor at. At that low a speed, you are likely to let the smoke out.
  7. Moved to Leather Sewing Machines. You'll get more help here.
  8. Photos should include front, rear and left (needle) end for best results. You may have to reduce the file sizes to post them here. Help with that is in this thread
  9. Moved to Leather Sewing Machines.
  10. And you need a vegetable tanned leather for tooling. When properly moistened (cased), veg tan is very sensitive to impressions, even to your fingernails!
  11. Moved to leather sewing machines
  12. Moved your post to saddle restoration and repair. You should also check this forum for the info you are asking for.
  13. @LangDog You have people interested in your press. You should be checking back frequently if you want to sell. You should also post your location so we know whether you on the moon or mars. This is a global forum. It's a good idea to put your location in your profile too.
  14. @jaygeo2020 You should also avoid cluttering other peoples threads with non-related comments. You can post questions like this on your own thread, or report the thread you want fixed, or send a PM to a moderator.
  15. There is a limited time to edit a post. Maybe up to 2 hours. Haven't seen any documentation about it though. If you want to change the price, just tag on another new post to the end of the thread. Members can not delete posts. If a posted item has been sold, just add a post that the item is sold. It may catch my or other moderators' attention, then we lock the thread and move it to old/sold. We can hide posts if requested, or edit to fix a problem, etc. Just report the post and describe the problem.
  16. @Hannamaija Moved your post to Leather Machinery. Help Wanted posts require every post be approved by a moderator.
  17. @Campleathergoods Moved your post to leather sewing machines. You'll get help here.
  18. @Techsew Ron Looks like your help is needed here.
  19. Moved per request of @ButtonLady
  20. So Cal is quite a large area. Post your town location so interested parties know your approximate location.
  21. Thanks. It is a good idea to add your location to your profile so it becomes clear to others where you are from and assists with the context of any discussions, and of course when you are attempting to sell or buy.
