Please read the 3rd post in this thread.

Instead of tagging onto old threads, and especially threads that don't list the same model number is not a great idea. I split your post off to a new thread. Also found a manual https://www.manualslib.com/manual/970676/Sunstar-Km-380bl.html Refer to page 13.

Looking to sell Leather stamp and tool kit
Northmount replied to Shauna860's topic in Leatherwork Conversation
Nobody can tell you its value sight unseen. Add some photos (jpg or png) 800 pixels in the longest dimension. Add some description, how many stamps, the type of stamps, are they craftool and if so what are the numbers, are they letter / alphabet stamps? Sorry our crystal balls don't work anymore. The tin hats and internet must have screwed them up. -
You posted in a very old thread. Different machine even. Split your post off to a new thread. Have you looked through the leather sewing machine forum, especially the pinned topics?

Hi Toxo, moved your post to leather sewing machines. I think you might get the attention of the right members here.

Moved your post to General Saddlery Discussion. When you are making a post or answering a post, below the area you type in is an area specifically for adding files to your post. jpeg or jpg or png are the best picture files to use. Resize to 800 pixels in the longest dimension if your files are too large.

Moved your post to Dyes, Antiques, Stains, Glues, Waxes, Finishes and Conditioners Check through this forum. Mainly, you will find that you need to buff the purse with a clean white soft cloth until it stops transferring dye (rub off) to the white cloth. Then it needs to be sealed with a finish product that could be a lacquer and water based sealer. You find various names as you peruse this forum.

@Lena Carlton More information and a picture of the head Some dimensions of the base would be helpful.

Moved your post to leather sewing machines. You'll get answers here.

Moved your post to Dyes, Antiques, Stains, Glues, Waxes, Finishes and Conditioners. It really has no connection to Hardware! You need to provide more information. It's sort of like asking "What colour should I paint my car?" You need to tell us what you want the conditioner for and what you expect it to do for you. What kind of leather, what is the item used for, what weather or work conditions is the item subject to? None of us here have a crystal ball to see what you actually want. Once you give us some details, someone will be able to help you.

looking to buy tooling for a J A Richards die bender
Northmount replied to Sam wurz's topic in Wanted
I split your post off an old thread about post bed sewing machines. Your post has nothing to do with the old post's title / subject. It is bad etiquette to post like you did and won't make you any friends here if you continue with such behaviour. I moved your post to the Wanted section in the Marketplace. -
3 in 1 and other hardware store oil contains additives that oxidize and form a gummy substance that turns into a hard shellac. When this happens, your machine will seize up. Use sewing machine oil. It is clear, Lily White is one brand. It generally doesn't stain items you are sewing, but can. Others here are using transmission oil, hydraulic oil, synthetic oils, etc. There are lots of posts and a fair amount of debate as to which is best.

Moved your post to leather sewing machines. You are looking for a patcher. @Wizcrafts has lots of experience with sewing patches and can tell you about it (and of course, lots about sewing machines).

How to search for single word with three characters
Northmount replied to friquant's topic in Feedback and Suggestions
Some databases don't index 3 or fewer letters words. Easy way to not index "the" and many other articles reducing the amount of space or keys required by non-essential words. Some DBs allow you to specify what gets dropped and what to keep. -
Often times it is better not to tag onto an 8 year old post. Find the same forum and make a new thread with your post. Some pictures may be of great help too. Need to be able to see what you are describing. Our ESP doesn't reach that far

How to search for single word with three characters
Northmount replied to friquant's topic in Feedback and Suggestions
Use a Google search. Their indexing is better, and the servers are very fast. Use the following format: site: leatherworker.net vfd The site parameter restricts the search to a specific site. The search parameters like "VFD" follow the site parameter. -

Please post your photos here. 3rd party hosted photos frequently disappear due to changes in the host's policies, host out of business, users moving files, deleting files, closing their account or the account expiring. When this happens, the post becomes worthless to all future users who are researching or looking for help to solve a problem. Post your photos in jpg or png format. They display automatically. Many members will not download unknown files or file types. If your files are too large to post here due to file size restrictions, you need to resize your files to fit.

Moved your post to Dyes, Antiques, Stains, Glues, Waxes, Finishes and Conditioners. Check out vinegaroon in this forum, lots of posts and info. Note it is not a dye. It is a reaction between iron and tannins in the leather. So the leather needs to be vegetable tanned, and, any finish removed so the veinegaroon can soak in and do its chemical reaction.

You need to provide more information, like thread size and type, needle and awl sizes, and some pictures of the stitching from top and bottom sides showing examples. We may have some minde readers here, but I think they need your help.
