There was another recent post about thin materials and thick thread that made the point, the material has to be thick enough to be able to properly bury the knot. So vice-versa, the thread needs to be thin enough ... It is very hard to adjust the tension with a single thin layer of material, and thread that is more than half the thickness of the material. For test runs, use a stack of material the same as the material and same thickness as you are going to sew. And your thread has to be thin enough to be able to hide the knot.

There are other posts about using planes for skiving if you want to search for them. I'd be interested in the angle of the frog and the angle the blade is sharpened to. I've also seen little planes using a razor blade described in various posts. I've played with these without much success.

Needle might be too small, so hole too small to pull the knot up into the material. Refer to this needle/thread chart. https://www.tolindsewmach.com/thread-chart.html Proper threading is critical. Make sure the thread is between the tension disks, re-check your thread path against the manufacturer's instructions. Post photos of the sewing and the thread path. All we are doing is guessing at this point, Need more information, the thread size, the needle size, the thickness of the material you are sewing.

Have you search LW for Fortuna skivers? Many of the parts are the same between model numbers, and with some competitors. There have been quite a number of posts over the past few years.

Loops on the bottom, increase the top thread tension to pull the knot up into the material. Don't use thick threads for thin materials, need to have the knot smaller than the thickness of the material. A picture of the top and bottom of the stitching may help define the problem.

Smart phone screens and many monitors don't display high res files in high resolution. People that live on the fringes of the internet appreciate smaller file sizes and high res photos may take from 10 minutes to hours to download.
