  1. These snaps have been around for a long, long, time. They were most often used by home seamstresses on home made clothing. I remember them from well over 70 years ago. Once in a while, one might come apart, but it was due to faulty setting, a little crooked, or misaligned so a couple prongs missed being seated in the mating ring. This is a good reminder for thin leathers, not just textiles.
  2. From the video description: 1,081 views Oct 13, 2023 Best servo motor for heavy duty industrial sewing machines Kinedyne HM-750SL is the world's most powerful "low-speed, high-torque" servo motor that is able to maintain full power and torque even at low speed. Using photoelectric encoder, the minimum speed is down to 50 RPM. The actual sewing machine speed is 13 stitches per minute only which is great for more precise sewing of detailed work and heavier leather To sew very slowly is also ideal for leather working beginner. Using either an 750SL servo motor on heavy thick sewing applications completely eliminates the need for a now obsolete, "Speed Reducer". https://automatic-sewing.com/750SL-lo... 3. Found a little info here. http://kinedyne-motor.com/products/HM-750S/236.html And a video actually sewing leather. Nice to see a real demo sewing a stack of leather. Notice the large flywheel on the sewing machine, lots of speed reduction there. Making me jealous, I want one, but for the amount I do these days, it's out of my range.
  4. Videos are too large generally to post here with the file size restrictions. Post on YouTube and share a link to it here. If your files are too large to post here due to file size restrictions, you need to resize your files to fit. Follow this link for some helps and suggestions. https://leatherworker.net/forum/topic/15122-how-to-post-pictures-on-lw/?do=findComment&comment=551171 There are lots of Apps, software, and online tools available on the web, or even built into your device to enable you to reduce your file sizes. 800 pixels in the longest dimension is quite adequate. Smart phone screens and many monitors don't display high res files in high resolution. People that live on the fringes of the internet appreciate smaller file sizes and high res photos may take from 10 minutes to hours to download.

  6. Your photo is much higher resolution than necessary. It is nearly 1MB. If you reduce the file size like suggested, to 800 pixels in the longest dimension, you will have a lot less trouble uploading photos here.

EDIT: I checked your file sizes, a little large, near 500kB, but shouldn't be a problem loading 3 or 4 photos at a time. 800 pixels in longest dimension may help reduce that size some more.
  8. It does, with all sites that I have tried, including Amazon!

  10. Moved your post into a subforum Dyes, Antiques, Stains, Glues, Waxes, Finishes and Conditioners. where you might find more information and hear from others that may frequent this area. Google Searches are faster and get more data than the search engine here. Use this format: "site:leatherworker.net YOUR SEARCH PARAMETERS" without the quotes. Their servers index a lot more data and are quite fast compared to here.
  11. Hi @bluekush Good work. I'm a fellow Calgarian. Looking forward to seeing more of your work.

  17. @blackandblue50 Please post your photos here. 3rd party hosted photos frequently disappear due to changes in the host's policies, host out of business, users moving files, deleting files, closing their account or the account expiring. When this happens, the post becomes worthless to all future users who are researching or looking for help to solve a problem. 18. Put everything except your shirt on, step out of the bedroom to the bath or where ever and turn on the light there. Sometimes I can find the shoulder seams and make a fairly good guess, but not always!

  20. It looks like you aren't gaining any friends here. We don't tolerate several advertising posts the same day, same content, with no useful information for members here. Occasionally, a member will post an ad and that is reasonable. What you have done is not. If you want to advertise here, buy a banner ad and support leatherworker.net. Contact @Johanna to purchase a banner ad. If you continue to post like today's posts, you will be permanently banned from the site. You were given an opportunity to prove yourself and so far have failed. I have hidden your additional posts you made today, and as you can see, members are watching and not happy being spammed. It looked like an interesting tool and maybe useful to some members. That is the only reason this post was allowed to stand. You will be under moderation going forward.

  24. Mach 3 and other models used to be sold by Leightons Industrial Sewing machines in Alberta several years ago. The owner was fairly old and really reliable. The business is gone, no longer on the web, so I assume the owner has passed away. Now I'm seeing all kinds of strange Mach whatever sewing machines like the above post. He found some of the same ones I found. Here is an old post https://leatherworker.net/forum/topic/9019-sewing-machine-from-leightons/
