  1. Moved your post to Dyes, Antiques, Stains, Glues, Waxes, Finishes and Conditioners.
  2. Moved your post to Gun Holsters, Rifle Slings and Knife Sheathes. I think this is a more likely place to get comments back.
  3. Moved, kind of fits with belts. Purses, Wallets, Belts and Miscellaneous Pocket Items
  4. Report these scammers so we can remove their access to LW.
  5. Some photos may help perk some interest. Reduce photo sizes to 800 pixels in the longest dimension so they fit the size constraints here.
  6. I moved this topic to Dyes, Antiques, Stains, Glues, Waxes, Finishes and Conditioners.
  7. Merged the 2 threads into one since they are dealing with the same problem.
  8. Moved your post from Leather Sewing Machines to the Marketplace Items For Sale Machinery -- Sewing and Stitching Used This is where for sale items need to be posted. Some pictures would be helpful too. See the marketplace rules here https://leatherworker.net/forum/forum/70-announcements/
  9. You already have this question in another post. Don't need to clutter up the site with multiple instances of the same thing. Stick with it instead of starting a new thread. You can go to that post and see that I answered what you problem is likely to be.
  10. Turn the handwheel a little further until the take up lever is all the way to the top before you pull the piece out from under the foot.
  11. If you would take the time to track through the thread, you would find the file is posted several comments back. Feb 27, 2022
  12. Check any changes to the top tension. Make sure the thread is properly seated between the tension disks. What changed? Increase the top tension if the only thing you did different was sew leather instead of something else, or thicker or harder leather. Changes in needle or thread also affect the tension. You need enough top tension to pull the knot up into the leather.
  13. Moved your post out of announcements to Marketplace > Items For Sale > Machinery -- Cutting/Leatherworking > Used where it belongs.
  14. Moved your post to leather sewing machines. You appear to be using a standard conical point needle best suited to fabrics. Switch to a leather point that cuts a small slot rather than blowing out the bottom side. More members will be along with similar comments. You can do some research in this forum about what needles to use.
  15. Something happened to these photos. They are no longer accessible, reducing any value this thread could have. Please re-post here. 800 pixels in the longest dimension is quite adequate as most monitors, tablets, smart phones can't show high resolutions. 800 pixels nicely fills the screen for most devices and browsers.
  16. If you want to get a user's attention, you need to either quote at least a portion of their post or tag them. Since I quoted part of your post, you will get a notification that I have done that, depending on your profile settings regarding notifications. A second way of notifying a person, is to tag them. You to that by typing the @ symbol followed by the username and picking it from the popup box. Apologies to @chuck123wapati for using his ID in this example. Now he will get a notification since I tagged him.
  17. Moved your post to leather sewing machines. More likely to get answers here.
  18. Moved this thread to Saddle Identification, Restoration & Repair
  19. Moved your post to Dyes, Antiques, Stains, Glues, Waxes, Finishes and Conditioners.
  20. Moved your post to Leather Sewing Machines
  21. Induction motors are designed to provide enough cooling air to keep the motor at a safe temperature in a range of ambient temperatures. If you run them on a VFD at low speeds, depending on the motor and the load, you can get to the point where the motor no longer has the required cooling air flow. (There is more documentation on larger motors, 25 hp and up than there is on small motors.) The motor also has less available torque at low speeds, is more inefficient further increasing its temperature. If you monitor the temperature of the motor, you should be safe. You should be able to place your hand lightly on the motor for 5 to 10 seconds. If you can't, it is getting too hot. Either speed it up for more cooling, or shut down until it has cooled.
  22. @MattiJoy2 Merged your posts into a single thread. Let's keep related items together instead of starting a new thread and asking similar questions.
  23. Appears to be from Minneapolis, Minnesota, 55440 according to the IP address. @JodiG It's often helpful to you and others to give some indication of your location in your profile. Then info that is relative to your location can be provided.
  24. Moved your post to General Saddlery Discussion I think you will make more contacts here. Check out the other adjacent forums about saddle restoration, etc.
