  2. Induction motors are designed to provide enough cooling air to keep the motor at a safe temperature in a range of ambient temperatures. If you run them on a VFD at low speeds, depending on the motor and the load, you can get to the point where the motor no longer has the required cooling air flow. (There is more documentation on larger motors, 25 hp and up than there is on small motors.) The motor also has less available torque at low speeds, is more inefficient further increasing its temperature. If you monitor the temperature of the motor, you should be safe. You should be able to place your hand lightly on the motor for 5 to 10 seconds. If you can't, it is getting too hot. Either speed it up for more cooling, or shut down until it has cooled.
  3. @MattiJoy2 Merged your posts into a single thread. Let's keep related items together instead of starting a new thread and asking similar questions.
  4. Appears to be from Minneapolis, Minnesota, 55440 according to the IP address. @JodiG It's often helpful to you and others to give some indication of your location in your profile. Then info that is relative to your location can be provided.
  5. Moved your post to General Saddlery Discussion I think you will make more contacts here. Check out the other adjacent forums about saddle restoration, etc.
  6. If anyone has taken up this offer, please provide your feedback. Have a complaint that this may be a scam. We need your response so we can investigate and resolve this issue.
  7. You should also state any shipping information. Will you ship, what restrictions, who pays, etc.
  8. Looks like you are trying to use something at mail.google.com to post photos. Please post your photos here. 3rd party hosted photos frequently disappear due to changes in the host's policies, host out of business, users moving files, deleting files, closing their account or the account expiring. When this happens, the post becomes worthless to all future users who are researching or looking for help to solve a problem. If your files are too large to post here due to file size restrictions, you need to resize your files to fit. Follow this link for some helps and suggestions. https://leatherworker.net/forum/topic/15122-how-to-post-pictures-on-lw/?do=findComment&comment=551171 There are lots of Apps, software, and online tools available on the web, or even built into your device to enable you to reduce your file sizes. 800 pixels in the longest dimension is quite adequate. Smart phone screens and many monitors don't display high res files in high resolution. People that live on the fringes of the internet appreciate smaller file sizes and high res photos may take from 10 minutes to hours to download.
  9. If you have an Ikea in your neighborhood, they have/had a desk lamp. I took the base off, made a bracket for it and bolted it to the top of my machine.
  10. Moved your post to leather sewing machines. Much more likely to get responses here.
  11. The make of machine would be helpful, as would be pictures, however you need to become a member to be able to post pictures here.
  12. Stretch the pin! LOL Find a nail or rod the same diameter and cut it longer than the current pin. Test it, if too long or not long enough, shorten it or make a new one longer.
  13. Moved to leather sewing machines. Help Wanted requires moderators approval for posts, and is more like the newspaper classifieds, people wanting to hire someone.
  14. Tandy's belt strips are slightly narrower than the stated numbers too. There has been a discussion somewhere here before. As mentioned, it has to do with buckles and belt loops. Someone can do a search to see those comments/posts.

  17. You can try these google searches site: leatherworker.net what's the difference between denatured alcohol and isopropyl alcohol site: leatherworker.net thinning dyes what's the difference between denatured alcohol and isopropyl alcohol Site: leatherworker.net restricts a google search to this site. Place search parameters after as in the above searches
  18. Do a search. This has been discussed in previous threads. You could also look up MSDS sheets for both. As an alternate source, some have used some brand or type of spirits. You may come across those too if you do a search.
  19. Obviously no fuse on that side, what's on the back? One question that hasn't been asked. With the belt off, does the motor run when you press the pedal down? Have re-aligned the linkage from the pedal to the motor? If you disconnect the pedal linkage from the lever on the motor, does the motor run when you stroke the lever all the way?
  20. Please post your photo files as jpeg or png files. heic files files are a proprietary format and not all devices and operating systems are able to display them. Many users will not download links to unknown files or sites so you are limiting the audience your are attempting to reach. Please see this link for more information and assistance. https://leatherworker.net/forum/topic/98380-heic-picture-files-convert-to-jpeg-before-posting/
