  1. Looks like you've been pretty busy and you're taking over the board. Nice looking work!
  2. Thanks! My friend's son is 12 and is really into old cars and hot rod related stuff. One of his nick names for him is 'moon'. Thanks Tom!
  3. Hard to tell. I've used some on seats and it held up pretty well , I guess some does rub off from sitting on it. It does seem to be pretty permanent, though. It would also depend on the type of item it's used on.
  4. Sorry about the pics, I got them off his photo bucket site and I'm such a computer genius that I have no idea how to make them larger. Hopefully, I'll turn out stuff quicker once I finish my shop.
  5. Thanks, I did my usual light coat of oil ( Vavoline 20w50) after the color, antiqued it and put some Aussie conditioner on it.
  6. I've been busy working on my shed/workshop so this is the first thing I made in a while. It's a guitar strap I made for a friend of mine to give to his son for Christmas. I used BIC permanent markers for the color and black eco flow antique.[att chment=19003:th_IMG_1060.jpg]
  7. Kind of leather related; my wife's folks gave me a Menard's gift card so now I can finish insulating the roof in my shed/workshop. Also got a book of short stories by Sonny Barger and " Indian Larry, Chopper Shaman". Our almost 2 and a 1/2 year old son made out like a bandit!

Vera, your work is crazy cool! Excellent piece!
  9. That looks really sharp, nice work! Let's see more of your work.
  10. That's a good idea,I'll have to try that. Thanks for the tip!
  11. Thanks, man! Yes,a lot of the facial details are just cut in. Too much tooling can make it look muddled, sometimes less is more. As far as depth goes, I like it deep! But then again, you have to pull up sometimes.I'm still learning myself and in no way consider myself an expert. My ideal style would have my work look kind of like a cartoon drawing. I've seen your stuff on the HAMB and JJ and it's looking good.
  12. Kustomizer, make your pattern just using the basic outline. You can add all the little details later. Take your time and maybe do some practice finks on some scrap. Here are some variations on one theme.
  13. I had some pics of it on his Panhead but I lost them. He said he would send more so when I get them I'll post them .
  14. Yes and no.Sometimes I use no padding and other times I use a couple layers of yoga mat or my favorite ( at least my back and butts favorite), a small inner tube.
  15. I use Fiebings antique in the jar. I put a good coat of Aussie conditioner over it and it works quite well.
  16. Nice work, Bree! I have a question, though. I've tried using that white poly thread a couple times and I couldn't get it to not come apart. How do you tie it off so it will not come apart? Thanks.
  17. Cool, but I was thinking of a different kind of thong.
  18. Overworking the leather? You say potahto and I say potayto. Whatever works for someone, I guess. However, it reminds me of an interview I saw with Steven Tyler and Joe Perry of Aerosmith. Tyler said when they were listening to playback on one of their songs when he heard what sounded like an accordion. He said they needed to add some accordion but Joe said 'why'?
  19. There maybe some lack of motivation but there is certainly no lack of fine work there. I can relate to the motivation part . The project I started on this week is the first leatherwork I've done in about 21/2 months as I've been busy working on my shed. At any rate, good job Jordan!
  20. Effective yet simple, I love it! Great job!
