That's a pretty big piece! At first I thought this was posted in the wrong section when I saw the title. Really nice job!

Thanks everyone. Roger, I've been using BIC permanet markers on some things. There holding up surprisingly well especially the seat on my bike. I'll have to post a pic.

I've been busy with building construction but I did this during a few rain interruptions.

Really nice work! Your style is different and that is a good thing, you even got Johanna to notice! -
Dave, seen one of your seats in the latest issue of "The Horse". Looks great!

Neat-o. Those are really cool! -
Been busy building my new shop/garage in my backyard. I'm not a carpenter but I'm learning as I go. In the military it was called OJT, on the job training.

Casing leather

I've done both; soak completely or just lightly wet. Now I just get the top slightly wet to trace a pattern. I'll then rewet the top a bit and wet the bottom some with a rag or sponge, when it returns to the natural color I'll carve it. I 'll let it sit overnight before tooling it. -
Looks great Marlon! Have you tried sharpies for coloring instead of dye? I used some Bic permanent markers on the latest seat cover for my bike and the color is holding up a lot better than I expected.

Very good design! I think some smaller skulls in the border design would be pretty cool but an outstanding job none the less!

Tom, you sound like an art critic, but that's not a bad thing. MADMAX22 I wish I did freehand the border! I drew the scroll on some tracing film and went from there. Thanks Darryl. I haven't been on here a lot lately as I've been busy building my new garage/shop. I'll post some pics of it soon. -
New seat

Nice work on the seat BUT the skull and crossed pistons resemble Outlaw MC colors quite alot. Unless they're members, maybe too close for comfort.

Happy Birthday to Leatherworker and for giving me a place to display my junk. And BIG THANKS to all the people working hard to keep this place up and running!

Fantastic! About how much time is invested in a saddle of this caliber?
-
Thanks, but I'm not keeping it. I made a different cover for my seat. I'm a wuss so I run a tube in mine. I'll post a pic of it soon, I've been busy building my shop in the backyard. A lot of post hole digging.

Looks good. Now comes the fun part, putting it together. I see I'm not the only connoisseur of cheap,uh, inexpensive padding.

What's not so great about it? Good work, man. -
I made this for the seat on my bike because I wanted some background. I made the error of just tracing off another cover instead of stripping down the seat and fitting it to the pan and it ended up pretty loose. Well I ended up making another pan and stuffed some yoga mat in it.

Very nice and clean and that lacing is slick!
