    I would use veg tan and treat it with your favorite oil........neatsfoot. montana pitch blend. dr. jacksons, skidmores, little oil will keep the wetness out......

    Nice. i like the way you molded them. the 4 in the one photo what type of leather is that. what type of sewing machine do you use. i like how close you are to the edges.

    CharlieR... you might apply some Lexoil to the strings , mabey they would soften up to be a little flexible....just a thought

    peterk, did you roughen the surface of the embosed leather before you applied the contack cement? try that on your next one.

    use a very fine eye, measure 3 times , have a very hard surface. and dont let the letters bounce. or buy one of the tandy embossers. like this one.

    Josh...... Machine or Machines 1/8".... i have a Singer 31-15 workes great... 1/4 to 1/2"... bite the bullit... get an Artisan 3000 or a similar machine. I have a Sew-Mo 205-370

    nice cartridge box. very clean & neat.. that looks like a .45-70 or is it something smaller.

    yes you are corrcet... the hold down tab is part of the sheath. not an extra pc sewn on.. yes i did draw it on the pattern.
