  1. Very, very nice!! The python and black look great together. Have you tooled drum dyed before? Just wondering how it looks and what advantages it has if any.
  2. I purchased some of the oiled leather from Tandy a couple months ago when it was on sale. It is nice leather. I haven't done anything with it yet. Are you sure it will hold it's shape if you make a hat out of it? Mine is really flexible. I don't make hats but it's something to think about.
  3. I think you got the shape down real nice. I don't know if your stitching will hold up though. At least it's just a cover if it doesn't. Not bad for a first and the more practice you'll find better ways to go about it.
  4. I have not used the paste but, I don't really care for the Eco-Flo gel antique. For me it doesn't stay in the crevices well. The shoe polish sounds like a good idea. ..Why can't it be shipped?? I could purchase some for you and you could pay me by Paypal. My husband has shipped many things across the ocean and also to Finland. Just an idea.
  5. I would also be interested in knowing if an air rivet gun works well. I'm intending on purchasing one in the future. I just want it to work well without any problems.
  6. Really sleek looking!! Love the color combination. Formed real nice too.
  7. I really like the red one especially! You took great close up photos. Nice.
  8. Well I've been told I have a green thumb but the weather this year is playing havic on my tomatoes! lol Thanks for the compliment Jimbob!
  9. I've been wanting to buy some Montana Pitch but haven't yet. I do know that Xian Leather uses this on his motorcycle seats. If you haven't seen his seats you're missing out big time. It's Xianleather .com I can't see him using this if there were any problems.
  10. Thanks for the full information on this technique. I've been wanting to ask how to do this also.
  11. A real slick looking seat! Maybe a few of these will give you a break from the tooling. What is the type of leather if not toolable? Upholstery? What ounce is it also? Thanks Christie Oops, I saw you listed the leather after I posted. Thanks David
  12. Very, very, very NICE!! I especially love the wallet. The 2 different leathers look great together. Nice clean work. Very high end quality.
  13. NICE! Looks comfy!
  14. Beautiful! The Papa Clutch really stands out. The scales on the fish and the skin on the creature is awesome.... I have a question maybe you can give me an answer. I am in the process of wet forming a piece of leather. I have had trouble in the past with it stretching way out of shape from carving and stamping then when I'm ready to lay it on my base it is way oversized. I usually try to have it cut close to exact size before wetting. Do you have a trick way of knowing how to figure cutting size? I know you probably don't wet form your seats. I just thought you might know. Thanks
  15. Jimbob, I used F900 and B701 for bevelers and a little help from a modeling tool. Lacing is the triple stitch. I would like to learn more exotic lacing. I love to lace. Yep, old school was what I was going for...Thanks for the comments!
  16. Mortal, I use Fiebings dyes and their Atom Wax... Thanks everyone for the comments!
  17. Thanks! Just a single 1/8" hole punch.
  18. Wow, I feel for you...I think I wouldn't have shipped anymore until paid for the first. Just goes to show you it's hard to trust anyone these days. Maybe they thought they found a sucker (no pun intended). Good luck
  19. Latest seat finished with triple lacing.
  20. Looks good... What ounce of leather did you use for the top?
  21. Tina, I've been asked by my son-in-law to make him a quiver. Before he asked me this I didn't know what a quiver was. He is really into hunting and wants me to make him a bow case and quiver out of an elk hide he shot on a trip to Montana. This is a prized possession and I don't want to ruin this hide. The question I have is the hair is attached and I need to know how to sew this. Do I cut back the hair to be able to sew it? I saw your photos and thought you could be of help. Thanks
  22. Thanks for the info Leatheroo
