  1. Two good resources are the navy repair manual, for some reason i cannot post a link so google "navy sewing manual " and it will come up. Also ismacs.net has a lot of good info and many manuals.
  2. I agree, the are also a lot of old leather 'the craftsman' magazines on ebay that are nice references.
  3. Thanks,i will review the 267 manual but now i am worried....lol
  4. Hi, I am trying to take a part my machine and am having some trouble. I am trying to get to the part that holds the needle bar in. I lent out my machine and the fellow accidentally broke one of the screws in the needle bar holder when trying to adjust/tighten the bar. I was able to get the screw backed out but the new screws I ordered from Adler are different than the old ones and the needle bar is not held in place tight enough so I want to see if I can modify the needle bar pincher/holder to accept the new screws or replace it with a new needle bar holder. I have taken a few parts off but cannot get the needle bar out - any ideas? I know a few of you have/had the same machine. Thanks.

  6. If I understand you correctly, you should hold on to your top and bottom threads as you start sewing and or start sewing with your needle down. Look on youtube for Arthur porter who will provide info on leather sewing. Also, one of the sponsors here has a nice chart on suggested needle and thread combination. http://www.tolindsewmach.com/thread-chart.html
  7. One on the local Craigslist says its cast aluminum. Maybe you could work it out with seller if that is what you are looking for. http://inlandempire.craigslist.org/art/5152115264.html
  8. Yes, sewing well is surprisingly more difficult than one would think but with determination and a lot of practice and patience you may need about a year. There are edge guides and servo motors and speed reducers that will help a lot as well as youtube and this site.
  9. Do you know the size of bobbin and what weight of thread you want? Threadart and supior thread carries some but would depend on bobbin size.
  10. Welcome, you will see amazing things here.
  11. Cannot wait to see the full version. Do theee have an inlay?

  13. Not sure what you are describing, pictures would help.
