  1. Another option: a buddy of mine built a box for his industrial, added a motor and reducer. We will be testing it out on some upholstery leather today.
  2. You can find the manual at the durkopp-adler.com site but for some reason i cannot paste it here. Do a Google search for durkopp Adler 269 manual. Most of the sponsors shown above can help you out with the accessories. Your new machine is awful purty, I have a 67g373 and its a beast
  3. Excellent advice, I will scrutinize the cables and consider a full swap.
  4. thanks for the responses! I may tackle just changing the cord. Ps: billbop, you may not have noticed the 2 red extinguishers nearby -just in case... Lol
  5. I picked up an old singer 111w155 and table that seems to have an original singer clutch motor but the power cable from the switch to the wall is quite deteriorated so I want to swap it out with a new cable and switch. Sounds simple BUT, the old switch box seems to have a transformer of some sort in it and is only 2 wires. The new switch is like this and has 3 wires. Any tips?
  6. I like it, and I like the lacing detail too and would like to see more of that
  7. I am looking to get a edge guide for my Adler 67gk373 but not sure how to go about making the holes to mount it. any tips?
  8. I have seen several books showing a rawhide mallet being rejuvenated by cutting off the end with a hacksaw. General leather craft by Raymond cherry and I think the stohlman book on tools too.
  9. Al Stohlmans top 20 book has a nice section on filigree.
  10. Yes, it sounds like the safety clutched popped to prevent damage to the hook. So as stated above, clear out the jamb then reengage the clutch if needed. I am not familiar with your machine but it may reengage like the consew as seen here On you tube under 'reset safety clutch after thread jamb on consew 206rb'. For some reason I cannot attach the link..
  11. Watch the Arthur porter videos on you tube and sailrite.com has a lot of good videos in their video library too.
  12. Give me a few days to put together a list and see If I have those. Cheers
  13. I have made several purses with upholstery leather with fine results.
  14. Coincidentally, I just picked up a small laser that was for a circular saw. I still have to mount it somehow, it has a magnetic base but does not swivel to the proper spot. It is longer than yours but is battery operated. I like the idea 'cus there is never enough light to see well enough....
  15. I recently picked this up from an auction to restore. I have worked on many Singers but this is my first Consew - although I am told they are largely the same - this one may be close to the singer 153. I cannot find the model number but it appears to be closest to the Consew 227 with out reverse. I finally was able to get the stripped screw out of the hook so I can remove debris and give it a good cleaning - yeah. It sews but is skipped a stitch. I am hoping someone can confirm the model number and maybe send a manual for this, I have downloaded the only consew 227 manual from the consew site which is for a 227r - however this one appears different. In the upper cavity near the balance wheel, there are some markings (0, 0) that I assume is for timing but the manual would sure help. And the safety clutch looks a bit weird.... Anybody have any leads on verifying the model number? Thanks.
  16. They are beautiful, aren't they... I have seen that done on a much smaller scale at a local clothing store. Very neat.
  17. :cheers:welcome.. I have lots of family in new Brunswick .
