  1. What a fun project. I like it
  2. That makes sense and is something that occurred to me but I did not see that on the pattern so figured I was missing something. Lol. I would love to see any pix. as far as the treatment for the leather I used, I actually bought it that way from Tandy. It had the design and the brown finished.makes it so easy. Cheers
  3. Thank you for your response. Actually its that whole "lace up and done" part that has me stumped. I laced mine up but did not end up using the holes in the straps/handles so I don't think its strong enough. I have a length of lace with a flat needle at each end. I put the lace down the holes from the top side that leaves the lace inside the purse area. Left goes up R hole, Right goes up L hole - so that means I have not yet gone thru the handle... I keep staring at your pix but cannot figure it out , I just gotta take it apart and do it again...Anyway, here is a few pix of the purse - almost done! Gallery Link:
  4. I am starting this handbag and was wondering if someone could clarify how the straps are attached? Are they sewn on first then stitched THROUGH or? Also, are your bags lined? any pix of the inside.... Thank you in advance.
  5. I have both and will be posting info soon. Also a ruby blade and some more stuff. Anything particular that you are looking for?
  6. Actually, they just sold and is shipping today. I will have a smaller batch soon, thank you.
  7. Cool show about traditional craftsmanship on PBS including saddle making, gunsmith, and many others. See more details here http://www.craftsmanslegacy.com/Home not sure when the episodes are on exactly but I have seen a few so far and they are pretty nice to see
  8. Thank you! I am so greatful for all I have.
  9. Nice job.
  10. Correction to above: post bed or cylinder arm
  11. Well here is my 2 cents... for shoes, usually a oost hed or cylinder arm are recommended but more expensive so your best for a step up from your home machine will be a compound walking foot machine like a singer 111w155 or consew 206rb with a servo motor. You can usually find these on Craigslist with a clutch motor for about 500 but will need to buy a servo motor for another 135 or so. Take what you want to sew when you go to test the machine. If you still need more details, check the sewing forums here or let me know. Where abouts in so cal are you? I am in the IE.
  12. Those are great
  13. I have 5 older "basic" cheapo wooden mallets that came with early kits that I will be happy to send. PM with address.
  14. Estate sale find - over 300 tools mostly older, crisper Craftool. There are Craftool UA, Craftool Co USA, Craftool Co, 2 Baron and a Basic LA Tool. Many discontinued and rare like turnbacks and highly sought after decorative cut tools (Z998, Z999R, Z999L) there may be a few newer ones too. Comes in a great case that will hold many more tools. Also includes older modeling tools and lacing punches. I did my best to get accurate numbers but they are hard to see! Best, acceptable offer over $1,000 gets it with free shipping. I am hoping to not have to break them down to sell on eBay - too much work. LOL. Thank you. More pix available that could not be uploaded here, see link below. PDF contains tool numbers. link to more pix : https://www.flickr.com/photos/ie-bootlegger/sets/ look under case CaseForSale.pdf
