  1. Thanks for all of the encouragement guys (and gals), I appreciate it! So here is the final product ready for fathers day. I am sure he will like it....
  2. Interesting Wood - what is it?
  3. Those are truly beautiful...
  4. Looks good - so all of the stitching was done by hand?
  5. Cool, I have that Celtic stamp and it is real hard to get it deep enough to show the texture. Awesome.
  6. 2 ft should do ya and here are several good books that can show you how to make them and weight of leather, etc. Good luck.
  7. That's OK Dave - thanks anyway ( I can tell you if you want to learn though) . Wild Rose, I did not realize that your instructions were one in the same as here- yours is slightly better resolution but does not print too well either. I can read it OK but want to print for mom. If you have a better one please do resend - if not that is OK. Thank you for your help! That's OK Dave - thanks anyway ( I can tell you if you want to learn though) . 8. Hi Dave, I was having trouble with the resolution of the leather roses sheet you posted when I try to print it out. Any chance you can send it to me in PDF? Mostly just the instructions page - it is hard to read. Thanks for your consideration! ss2106113@yahoo.com
  9. Thank you, I have been doing this for about 3 months and having a blast.
  10. I can see some areas needing improvement but overall I am happy with it. It will be a gift for my Dad for Dad's day. What do you think?
  11. Great job!

    Diy 3D Stamps

Great idea, I have been thinking about something like this lately so now I will definately give it a try!
  13. Well, the kit comes with the snap already installed... I wonder if there is some sort of coating (or patch) I can apply to the snap to protect it that will come off after.
  14. I have made a batch of vinegroon and have been experimenting a bit with satisfactory results. I am still learning the "strength" so I can control the color but now I want to do a holster from a Tandy kit. My concern is that the holster has a snap on it and I dont want to ruin the hardware. Any ideas on how to protect the rivet? A prior sample rusted pretty good. I typically dip the item in to the vinegroon.
  15. That is a very nice start - keep up the practice and work on your edges. There are a lot of good tips for great edges on here. I like your arrow.
  16. A few ideas: Tandy has a kit that you can buy or look at for inspiration. Tandy also sells Al Stohlman books called "the art of making leather cases vol 1,2, 3" that will take you through the steps to make just about anything.
  17. Very sorry for your loss.....
  18. Wow, that is nice. I think I need more practice with the swivel knife....
  19. Nice, I like the color too. So, is that the natural color of the kangaroo or did you stain/dye? If so, what color did you use?
  20. You could do a lot of coin purses with that weight, maybe wallets with liners, lots of things.... I just got my first side too so am considering all of the possibilities! What I am going to attempt is a holster. I will use a 7/8oz back and a double layer of the 3/4oz on the front - which I will have an inlay in. ... If I can figure it all out ; )
