  1. Well this is sort of a dye question. Was tooling a belt the other day in my (nonairconditioned) shop. Of course this time of year its smoldering in there. But I had a fan blowing directly on me. Anyway, sweating as I worked, i realized that sweat and vegtanned leather do not mix very well. Well not with making a very nasty looking greenish stain. My question is, is there anything that will remove the fungi looking stain? or is it a lost cause? thanks Eddie
  2. Hey that is really nice!!
  3. Thanks guys I will give it a go on next project. coming soon.
  4. Im sure its on here somewhere. but can someone point me in the direction of proper needle size to thread size for leather thickness? I generally am sewing 3 layers of 8 oz. with 200 needle 277 top and 207 bobbin. but Ive recently started sewing one layer of about 10oz with the same set up. it's turning out ok but what is the proper sizes for different thicknesses?? its all veg tanned if that makes a difference. any help is appreciated. Thanks, Eddie
  5. Looks great!
  6. That is awesome.
  7. thanks. uh lets see the leather is supposed to be 7/8 oz but it feels a bit thinner to me. and the liner is 2 oz again just guessing on that. And i can't say its an original design. the back ground tool is one from Tandy. The sewing was a stressful process. That was really my first big project with my machine. I've done a few scabbards with it, but nothing like the strap. thanks again Eddie
