He keep telling me "if its a 1911 holster than any 1911 should fit it." After the third time trying to explain it I gave up.told him I would make one for his commander. On a side not his wife told me this is his standard thing to do with holsters.

I emailed Golier and they said HO doesn't sell double shoulders. Foes anyone know what the average sq/ft is from Golier on shoulder pieces?

I would normally have told him I would not warranty the holster since he stretched it with a mag light but since his wife is a good friend of mine I am going above and beyond. I will post pictures of the holster he returned a little later.

So long story short, I made a 1911 avenger for a 4 inch Kimber. A coworkers husband ended up buying it from me. I have asked her a couple of times about how he liked and she would never give me a straight answer. Well I see him today for the first time and ask him about it. He tells me that he cant get his Colt or Sig 1911 in the holster. And that he has been stretching it with a flash light. I explained that if he wanted to bring the gun and the holster back I would stretch it by getting it wet and re molding the holster. He then said that is the wrong way to go about stretching a holster. I tried to explain to him that it was for a Kimber at which he said it shouldn't matter if it was Kimber or Colt it should still fit. I told him I would remake the holster but would need the other one back first. I am kinda at a lose here. This is the first holster to be "returned". I guess my ego is more bruised than anything. Does anyone have an Avenger colt pattern they would be willing to share?

I have been doing holsters for just over a year and a half. I have never bought anything other than Tandy leather. I am thinking of getting some HO but want the best bang for the buck. I have been using 6-7oz which I like but should I get back,belly,shoulder etc....thanks

I have a stamp from tuffcase. I am not impressed at all with it. He said it was a mallet stamp but have not been able to get a good impression with it. When I asked if I could get a refund on it he straight up told me no. I won't ever buy from him again. On a side note I cut it down a but and was able to get it to fit in an arbor press at work and was able to get okay impression s with it. I hate to post negative stuff against others but the whole thing was kind of ridiculous.

I have been told that you can buy non functioning guns from NAA for pretty cheap. I have never tried ao cant tell you any more about it.

I am sick of running out of needles and would like to buy some in bulk. I hand stitch with a size zero. Anyone know where to get bulk needles?

I had the same problem. The key is ho slow and take your time.

Anyone know of a US manufacturer of magnesium embossing plates. I found this company http://www.leprevo.co.uk/embossing.htm but they are in the UK.

It has been done for 1911s. My suggestion would be to either A: cover a set of oversized grips with some 1 or 2 oz leather or B: glue leather together like the old KBar knife handles and the shape fromthere. Good luck post pictures if you do this project.

There is a guy on Ebay that sells two guns for around 60 bucks. I havent bought anything from him just thought I would pass the word.

I add a snall square piece that goes between the strap and holster. I acutally glue it to.thebstrap.so it doesnt get lost.

Good day I have a tandy strap cutter (the cast alumium one). I am having problems keepi.g the leather from riding up and not cutting a nice strap. Anyone else have issues like this?

Did this for a customer Dan Wesson model 15-2. Man alive I would nit want to carry this thing! I have one and its not very light. Anyway the customer emailed me.today and said it is way more comfertable then his 1911 king tuk holster.

Correct me if I am wrong but I thought a single retention was it being in a holster(level 1) and anything that helps hold the firearm other than that was a level 2? So on and so forrth.

So nuteral shoe polish would be fine?
