Leather Lining Kidskin/goat
electrathon replied to mrtreat32's topic in Purses, Wallets, Belts and Miscellaneous Pocket Items
Steven Segal has goat. It is used in bookbinding. -
The name on the spine of this book was done with lead printing type heated to 300 degrees. Dampen your leather, heat the stamp in the oven, press it quickly into the leather (about 1 1/2 second) and you are done. Wear gloves when you pick up the hot ring or your hand will look like the guy in "Raiders of the Lost Ark".

Use smaller/tighter holes.

Yes, Oregon leather. The Portland store is bigger than Eugene.

Bag " Reliefs Of Steppes"

I thought it was funny, you were the first comment. I have a strange sense of humor though. Her work is inspiring. -

Punch slits, not round holes. Round holes for round holes, flat holes are for flat lace. A four slit punch is good, many more and the punch tends to get stuck and you can not pull it out of the leather. Aaron

Weakness is not the issue, appearance is. One of the biggest issues with buying big thread is that it usually does not come in small spools.
-
Most of the time you can not cleanly separate the threads. Just buy machine thread in the size you want and way it with beeswax. Most prewaxed thread has way to much wax on it and many are waxed with paraffin instead of beeswax.
-
Powder would work without problems, except you would have to make a jig to hold them. A LOT of work when you could just buy them instead.
-
You are not using the same direction on every stitch. Always the same thread to the left/over the other thread and so on. you are switching up which thread is on which side.
-
Let me look tonight. I still have a handful of the dies left.
-
You could look in the kitchen by the sink, just wash it well. IKEA has them for just over a dollar.

If you change the color of the cat with leather dye your girlfriend will be upset, even if the cat looks better in the new color. -
