  1. Would you mind telling me which vendor this is? I have been trying to locate a source for the electric creaser, with no success. Thanks.
  2. Thanks paramedic. I used to do rubber stamping and card design so got kind of used to that collage type style for some things. This is the first time I have applied it to my leather projects though. Vhakra, I did rivet the watch to the band. You can get pretty decent watches really cheap these days, so I seem to be developing a wardrobe of watches. I find them a fun project that doesn't take a lot of time or leather. It lets me try out some different things without worrying about the cost too much. If I really mess up, I am only out a little bit of leather and my time. You could use snaps, or maybe even chicago screws if you wanted to reuse the same watch face on multiple bands.
  3. This didn't turn out quite as expected but I was pleased with the depth of the 3d stamping. I have the Osborne hand press and using the Tandy rams foot with it ( as suggested on the Zeilkovitz site) to do the steampunk stamps worked really well. Thought I would mention it in case others were unaware that it could be used that way, as I was.
  4. Thanks Wiz. That's exactly what I needed to know.
  5. Thanks so much, Wiz. Since this old Singer has a cylinder arm, and it seems most roller edge guides will not fit it, I am looking for something that will function as an edge guide for stitching close to the edge. I can use the side of the presser foot as a guide for normal stuff, but need something for stitching closer to the edge.
  6. I have been looking to purchase various feet for the older Singer I purchased. Would someone be able to tell me what the difference is between a raising foot and a topstitch foot? I can't really tell from the pics I have seen and its not a term I am familiar with. Thanks.
  7. I love the tooling on this. Thanks for sharing.
  8. That Pfaff is a domestic machine. I don't see it being able to do horse tack.
  9. I have never tried shoes, but I think your shoes look great and really comfortable. I will be watching for your posts with interest. Welcome to the forum.
  10. This is fabulous! Thanks for sharing it. Does the smaller strap go under the watch?
  11. Congrats on your lovely baby. You just have one problem.....the first baby gets a LOT of pics taken, you are going to need another album really soon. LOL
  12. A more traditional watch strap with buckle closure. There were a lot of problems with this, but the end effect appears vintage, so overall I think it works, in spite of the flaws.
  13. Things have been kinda crazy for us this summer so I haven't been able to get much done. This is just a quick project to get back into things. Of course, there are lots of things I would correct for next time, but it felt really good to use my bearmaul again
  14. Tina, this is really nicely done. No wrinkles and a great match of fabric and leather. Thanks for sharing.
  15. Very nice! Thanks for sharing this with us.
  16. I am in awe of your leather applique skills. Can I ask which machine you use? As a sewer, I do know that a lot of that great stitching is your skill in the driver's seat but the machine sure is laying down nice stitches.
  17. For those interested in making corsets, the following are great resources. http://www.foundationsrevealed.com/ This is a subscription site, but has many useful free articles, including how to draft your own pattern. http://corsetmakers.livejournal.com/ Use the tags to search for specific topics.. there is a lot of info here on corset construction, patterns, different body types and materials from which to make corsets. It isn't as active as it used to be. and on facebook Learn to make Corsets like a Pro this was started by Alexis Black and is currently one of the most active sites. Hope these are helpful.
  18. These look amazing! Thanks for sharing.
  19. I love all your work, double u. It's always a pleasure to see. As an aside, as a city slicker type lol, what exactly is a trippin collar?
  20. Yes, they are. I had a Sony ereader before but it bit the dust. This is really light and compact, if I choose to use it without the case. If I had to do the cover again, I would have been more careful about sizing the insert and the cover . As it is, the insert is a tad short in some areas. But since I contact cemented the layers together, it should hold up. So in all its imperfect glory, here is a pic of the inside.
  21. Thanks, Sugar Lady.
  22. Boy, when you guys say that you have to use it or you use it, it is the truth. I have been away from this for a couple of months and my carving, tooling and stamping have really suffered. However, the cover is still usable so I thought I would post it. Originally it was made with chrome tanned leather but was too flimsy, so I used that for the insert with a veggie tanned cover. This was my first attempt at double lacing and I really need to figure out how to finish off better. Also my first try with fiebings anique paste.
