  1. TLW I am redoing a director chair for a customer and I called SLC and told them the exact dimensions of HO I wanted and they cut it for me. So it's straight on all four sides and I just have to do the trimming now. They are a great company to work with. This is veg tanned leather I bought. Cheryl
  2. Very beautiful work on all of it, Cheryl
  3. Just a piece of seran wrap should do to cover it, don't have to keep it i n the bag. Cheryl
  4. Depends on whether it has dried out. I would just wet it from behind with a sponge and let it leech all over in the fridge overnight. I wouldn't soak it, it will make the tooling you've done already look wonky. Cheryl
  5. Either way would work and you could use lace if you wrapped them. I would do either way on the under side where the crease of the fingers fit over them. Cheryl

Boma, it is very cute and quite a bit of labor. You should be proud. Cheryl
  7. I know some people leave the plastic on the part they aren't working on until they get to it. I don't know what you make so not sure this will work for you. Cheryl
  8. Well here's the finished set with a nickle to show scale. Critique welcome. Thanks, Cheryl
  9. Too true. Sorry Faire I am going to try and work on my mocs today. I got some black elk to make them out of and then I'm going to sew the hair on hide to them afterward. I have other things I should be doing but I actually want the shoes and would make a great statement at the farmer's market. I'll try to post some pics later of the WIP. C'mon folks let's get going!
  10. Brian I think a coaster is a great idea.
  11. Thanks Wiz, I didn't think they would do anything, but I wanted someone who knows to tell me. Cheryl
  12. Well not actually singers, my 1-91. The other two are hand crank and treadle. Well I don't know maybe those add on things work with them too, I just don't know enough about them. Thanks, Cheryl
  13. Thanks Renee, I like the idea too. But 2 people have said the silver plate. I knew better than to ask, LOL. Not doing anything on them right now. Cheryl
  14. Hi Harag, not dumb at all. The oval will be a barrette, the next larger one a necklace and the two small ones earrings. I'll put them up after I'm finished and use something for scale. Cheryl
  15. I can't figure out whether to use calf lace or silver plate chain to finish off this set. Opinions greatly appreciated. Cheryl
  16. No Brian, your opening yourself up to being broke the rest of your life, LOL. There's always one more tool you just have to have, or one more kind of leather you want to try I just got in an order of elk, bison calf and soft beige pig lining. And I haven't opened it because I have no where to put it, LOL. And my new lacing chisel is in there too. Cheryl
  17. Brian, I am so sorry none of us mentioned a stylus. That was the first tool I bought at Michaels which has a miniscule leather work area. Had it before the basic 7. Sometimes it's just really hard to think of everything even though I'm going back less than two years I'm glad you have your tools and scraps to start on. Keep everything, you'll be amazed every month how much better you are than the month before. Kinda pictures in the journal of the leather journey. I'm sure you know this already though through your braiding. Good luck and can't wait for the pictures. And awesome on finding a group to work with. Cheryl
  18. Looks good to me, neat clean lines. Not sure what you thought was wrong I checked and didn't see the problems. Good work. Cheryl
  19. Love the design, have to try one of those. And your tooling is really nice. Cheryl
  20. Allen, beautiful job. My last one I didn't line but I skived the furry edges on the back, was the furriest leather I ever saw. I like how this design came out. Cheryl
  21. You did a good job. Cheryl
