    I have used a shop vac and a garbage bag to form leather. It works fine. You have not, by your own words, yet you say it will not work. How would you know without actual experience? Don't pass along false, bad, or misleading information. It doesn't do anyone any good.

    I have exhausted my searching ability and found nothing. You might have to do a leather loop instead of the metal hanger.

    Any vacuum and a garbage bag will do the same thing for far less money.

    Bondo spreaders, cheap at harbor freight, can be trimmed to size to fit any project. Glue peels off easy enough. I like the looks of the metal spatulas also.

    I love Aussie and the smell. I also like snow-prof.

    Not sure. Have heard that some people don't like using it as its not a "natural" product.

    Dye first. The golden mink oil paste will be fine, no need to oil as far as I'm concerned. The golden mink oil paste has silicone in it, just a heads up.

    I would try some suede glued to the foot first.

    Cow should get you the widest variety of thicknesses. Harness and bridal are thick, 10 to 12 oz. Each ounce is 1/64 of an inch. A sole bend would be another option.

    In that case, I would use a heavy harness or bridal leather. And you will want a welt where the axe blade rests so as not to cut the stiching. Or you could rivet it instead of stiching.

    Might straighten by pulling straight or curving them opposite around a pole or round banister post.

    I don't knot or lock my thread behind the needle. I leave a longer tail and pull on the thread to tighten as has been mentioned above.

    A saddle bag shape sized to the dog and attached to a harness is where I'd start. Also a google image search.

    Bikermutt, I'm sure you have figured this out but the screws on the front and left side will remove the slop.

    I wouldn't have thought a lacing chisel would have produced that nice of stiching. An excellent new trick for improving my work. Many thanks for posting.

    The third picture shows the inside of the flap. It doesn't look dyed. The construction looks different than the first picture. I love the pouch though.

    I have flat lacing chisels and angled.
