  2. I have 3 different Paul Burnette ORIGINAL hand carved, & hand painted leather insert, & solid brass buckles. I have duplicate of the horse head ones, so I'm willing to part with one of them. It will fit a 1.5 inch belt. I purchased them in 1984, in upstate New York. I'm asking $100.00 + shipping.

  6. I just heard of the passing of Paul Burnett. He was, & still is an insperation to me in my leather work. Back in 1984 I was on vacation in upstate New York. At the gift shop of Howe Caverns,I saw some beautiful hand carved, & hand painted leather insert brass buckles. I had to buy one ! NO I'LL TAKE ALL THREE... Here they are 30 years later, still brand new. Check them out. You can see Paul signed, & dated them....

  9. There is a thread in ,dyes,paints glue etc posted on 2/21/12 About black dye rubbing off. Somone sugested we do a teaching thread about dye ruboff, & how to solve the problem. I see the problem all the time on our site. Black dye ruboff, also RED dye has a tendensey to rub off. Do you think it would be a good idea to have thread to be up for all to just go to if they have this problem with dye rub off.   10. I WOULD TAKE TINA'S ADVICE !! A FEW years ago she gave advice about angelus dys. They are great, so are FIEBINGS. YOU HAVE TO DILUTE THE DYE, AS TINA SAID...
  11. SIMPLY BEAUTIFUL !!! I would love to see a photo of the leather, before you dyed it. I love clocks made with leather. There are so many different types that can be done using leather. "LEATHER", what a beautiful medium to work with !

  16. LOOKS BEAUTIFULL !!! I use W&C for my dog collars & leads. I also now use it for belts. Not dyed or carved. W&C has some nice leathers !

  18. Here are some new belts I just finished. They remind me of belts from an old leather shop in East Village in New York City Back in 1970 !
  19. I use it as a marker, & also if you put enough pressure, it looks like stitches. That's what I use it for . I just made a belt for a customer, they wanted it to look like it was stitched, without the sewing. Know what I mean ??

  22. I'm looking to purchase a #5 overstitch wheel. I already went through 2. They wore out where the wheel gets attched to the shaft. I'm looking for a well made one. Any sugestions ???? PS I seen one in the Weaver catalog, Jeremiah Watt's for $65.00 A littel pricey, is it worth it ??
  23. I just finished making a quiver for my brother-in-law for christmas. Since it's going to be used outdoors, I'm wondering what type of protective finish I should use. It was dyed tan, using feibings dye,& than lightly antiqued, using feibings brown antique paste. WHAT SHOULD I USE TO PROTECT IT FROM THE ELIMENTS ??? PS: I also carved a deer & mountians,with tree,dyed with green, & brown, & just a touch of white acent
