  1. Anyone know where I can purchase screw on key posts. They are like chicago screws but smaller in diameter to fit through a key. I inclosed a photo of one I made years ago. I use to get them from S-T leather, but they don't carry them any more.
  2. SIMPLY BEAUTIFUL !! Did you build the whole case ?? Or cover an existing one ?
  3. I've been working with leather for 40 years now ! I purchase my supplies from many different venders. I started in leatherwork because of TANDY. I STILL PURCHASE FROM TANDY. I have a tax ID #. I HAVE TO COME TO TANDY'S DEFENSE ! I JUST RECEIVED AN ORDER FROM TANDY, INCLUDING A SIDE OF 8/9 OZ. veg tan leather. THE LEATHER WAS JUST FINE, & I PAID $165.00 for 22 ft. THE TANDY I DO BUSINESS WITH IS IN ALLENTOWN, PA. THE STAFF IS ALWAYS HELPFUL. ANYTIME I NEED ADVISE, THE MANAGER, BRIAN, ALWAYS HELPS ME OUT. THEY HAVE MANY DIFFERENT GRADES OF LEATHER, SO THERE IS SOMETHING FOR EVERYONE. I FIND THERE PRICES ARE COMPETIVE WITH OTHERS. I ALSO PURCHASE MY BRIDLE LEATHER FROM WICKETT & CRAGE. SO I KNOW THE DIFFERENCE !!!!THE ONLY LEATHER I HAVN'T USED "YET" IS HERMAN OAK, TOO MUCH $$$$$. BUT I'LL TRY IT SOON. SO GIVE THE TANDY IN ALLENTOWN A CALL. ASK FOR BRIAN, I'm SURE HE WILL BE HELPFUL. 1-866-875-6737 or 610-437-3424

  8. you can glue the lining leather to each piece of the purse, & then stitch it.
  9. YES I HAVE SEEN THEM. I've been making collars & leads for many years, all hand stitched. You must put the studs on first, because the collars are lined. That sounds like a plan. I don't know any leather workers near by, but I can take a sample to a shoe maker, let him try on one of his machines. I see what you said, about the left,& right feet, being ground down thin..
  10. WHAT ABOUT A LEFT or RIGHT FOOT ?
  11. Thats what I thought. I can't Sew before puttinr the studs on, because I line the collars.
  12. I'm thinking of purchasing a sewing machine for my leather work. I have a question foe you experenced sewing leather workers. I make a lot of dog collars & leashes. Many of them have studs on the leather. i hand stitch all my work. QUESTION: Can I sew on the edge of the leather, when there are studs close to the edge ? I've enclosed a photo of a collar, so you can see what I mean.

  17. You could stretch the case that is too tight. make a wood block the size of the phone, or wrap your phone in plsatic to protect it from the dampness. Wet the inside of the case & insert the wood block. i attatch a eye bolt to the wood, so I have something to grasp when I pull the wood out if it's too tight on the first atempt at stretching it.
