  2. Nice job !!! What leather did you use for the belt ?? Like to see a close up of the belt, esp. buckle end. People like to see how it's constructed. Keep up the good work. PS: what tannery did you get your leather from ???
  3. I agree with thefanninator, OTB. also check out www.leprevo.co.uk It's in UK, but the shipping is not that much. I also make dog collars, & leads. I just purchased 6 swivel snaps from leprevo,& they are well made, solid brass,Not thas costly. Email them & get a quote.Took me 1 week to get my order.
  4. I just wanted to share with all my fellow leather craftsman a great company to purchase leather craft supplies. It's a company in UK, www.leprevo.co.uk Check it out, it's not that much for shipping. There brass supplies are very good, made well ! I've been working with leather for over 35 years. I've purchased supplies all over. Years ago there were so many suppliers in my area, New York City. But now with rent so high they have all gone. I must purchase on line. There are a lot of good companies here in USA. I just thought I'd pass this one on to yall !!! Happy Leather Crafting.
  5. Has anyone used edge paint sold by " Randall" machine company ? It's imported from Italy, & comes in 3 types gloss, matte, & pro matte, & many colors. The company is : Campbell-Randall Machine Co., TX
  6. VERY NICE !!! I agree , more pics. Show the padded side.
  7. It's not a good idea in my opinion to use antique finish on naked leather. First dye it light tan, than a coat of leather balm, buff, than apply the antique finish. That's why it's called finish. Learned that from, Paul Burnette. PS, also you could use the oxalic acid FIRST, like the chief said !!!! LOVE THE LABRADOR.
  8. There is a tracing pattern in this book by Al Sthloman of a german shepard.
  9. i've been hand stitching for 35 years. retiring from my regular job, will be leather working full time next year. looking to purchase a good all around leather stitcher
  10. How did you attatch the female part to the back of the concho ?
  11. humperdingle, Is the Aussie leather conditioner made by " Fiebings" ?
  12. What is the best finish product to use on winter leather boots, to remove snow/salt marks from the leather ? Here in New York they use a lot of salt on streets for snow melt. Walking in the snow puts white salt marks on your boots/ shoes. What's the best way to get rid of these marks on the leather, & then protect them.
  13. Very nice work ! The stitching , just fine .
  14. Very Nice !! What made you buy the cobra ?? I'm thinking of investing in a sewing machine.
  15. I just received a double sholder from a company that I purchase my dyes, & finishers from, S-T Leather. I purchased a 6/7 oz. double sholder. There was NO marking telling the sq. ft. only marked the weight " 6/7 " I was charged for 20 sq. ft. The sholder is 50 inches at the longest spot, & 44 inches at the widest spot, which I figure to be aprox 16 sq ft. Has anyone ever purchased a piece of veg tanned leather with NO sq. ft. marking on it ??
  16. Feibings Pro dye is probably your best bet. It only comes in royal blue. Feibings leather dye comes in Navy Blue , & Light Blue. The light blue is not that light, I always reduce it to get a light blue. Also blue dye rubs off if not buffed.
  17. I'm sure who ever received any of those beautiful gifts was very happy . What is the last one ? Wine bottle holder ? Just great !!!
  18. JUST my 2 cents. I also use RTC . I find it very much the same as Feibings " acrylic resoline". Does any one else think thats so ???
  19. THANK YOU FOR POSTING. Last Christmas I made a quiver for my son-in- law. I wanted to make him a arm guard this year, but had no pattern so I made a belt, & matching tool/mag case to wear on the belt, both black basket weave . NOW I have a pattern for next years gift. THANKS FOR SHARING !!!!!
  20. Thats a great story John. I miss the brick & morter Tandy stores. You see I live in New York City. When I first started doing leather work, Way back in 1970, there were 5 Tandy stores in my area within 10 miles. Now there are NONE. I've asked Tandy's big wigs, they told me the rent in NY was just TOO much to warrent the opening of even one store. Our loss. If it wasn't for Tandy I probely wouldn't be making leather for the past 40 + years ...
