  3. fortysomething, If the shoe polish dont work,shoe makers,& shoemaker supply have color spray & liquid color for garment leather. It's called nu-life, another is called melatonin. It comes in over 100 different colors. I use it on shoes handbags & leather jackets. It works great.
  4. Best way with solvent & elbow grease!!! Also I've found buying from a shoe maker supply,VERY $$$ saving. You can buy by the gallon,the glue & solvent. I use vasoline, as Luke said,works well. As it gets older, use the solvent!
  5. Does anyone know the trick or tip to keep the basket weave pattern in line. When your putting it on a belt for example, at an angle,say 35degrees ? The IILG web site had there tip of the month last month, but I forgot to copy it. Does anyone have access? Can tell the tip, from last month.It was open to the public.   7. Very nice Robert,beautiful!!! Is there a trick to getting the basket weave to stay in line? On the IILG web site there was there monthly tip,last month about keeping basket weave in line. but I forgot to write it down. Does anyone know it?

  11. Does anyone make guitar straps. I have an order for one which gets attached with 3 holes on the rear side.It's a locking type, but i've never seen one with 3 holes to attatch it. HAS ANYONE EVER SEEN ONE LIKE THAT? It has 1 hole on front & 3 holes on rear side. Help Needed, Peter I. craftsman827

  13. I'm looking to upgrade some of my tools. Been doing leather work on & off for the last 35 years. Figured i'd start with 3 new bevelers. I heard Beard tools were about the best.   22. Paul, I've had some good results using a copy machine.You could try that.Reduce it to 75% or 80%. That should help.Good luck & Happy Toolin

  24. Kevin, I've been into leather work for over 30 years. This is BEAUTIFUL!!! Keep up the good work. Would love to see a tutorial. Like Mike said we are all learning, all the time... Your friend in leather, Pete....
  25. Kevin, You can glue it to a piece of plastic. larger than the piece you are tooling. I use craftman cement, but I just put the glue on the plastic, NOT on the leather.When its almost dry I put the leather on the plastic.Not too much glue. When your finished tooling, & after the leather is dry, you can peel the leather off the plastic. You might want to try this on a scrap piece first..Happy Toolin!!!!!
