  1. if you find a tree with a Singer 97 on it let me know...
  2. Videos do not play...
  3. The tip of a new bell crank lever is 5mm thick so you can compere how worn it is.
  4. What I would do is - check is the teeth on the foot are worn down / no longer sharp, lower the presser foot bar until it touches the needle plate and check if you have installed the stitch length adjuster correctly -> the wedge of the gib has to be up and the wedge on the inside of the adjuster has be down side. Increase foot lift. Check if the lifting lever shaft lever is tight (should be pinned if I remember correctly but not sure) And in worst case replace the bell crank lever.
  5. the w117 was a machine with trimmer for sewing sleeves in coats. I have a Singer 111 brochure, I will scan it and post it in the days to come. Brochures say it has an automatic tension adjuster and vertical trimmer
  6. Ha ha - okay - so its for the Adler 5 / 105. Who els should have that information - thanks again Jimi. I could use a copy too. Jimi, if you cannot attach a PDF please send me a paper copy, I will cover your expenses of course.
  7. I have a bunch of Adler 69 OEM parts. 2x Hook + Bobbin case in orig. Adler plastic case, NOS, # 0695814, NOS $65 each (AFAIK fits Pfaff 335 as well) 3x Needle Bar # 069230014 + Holder (no needle screw but + 1 screw hor bar holder), NOS $55 each 2x Cylinder arm Hook Cover, # 069001550, NOS or maybe slightly used $55 each 3x Thread take up Lever # 0680150 NOS $25 each (2 holes is correct for single needle machines too) 2x Tension Unit, complete, slightly used, # 067000224 $55 each 1x Needle plate / throat plate holder (the part where the cylinder arm hook cover slides on) # 069001590 $60 Parts may fit for other Adler machines too but please compare parts numbers. Fair priced I think... However - 10% off when taking at least 2 parts. I take paypal, will ship worldwide. Registered Airmail (trackable through USPS website is $8 per items or I have to check shipping costs by weight and / or value. Some pictures - please send PM if interested.
  8. Does someone know what purpose this needle plate and feed dog is for? I have not found them in my parts list though I think I have seen these parts before.... Will take a picture of the installed parts later.
  9. maybe pilgrim shoe & sewing machine co http://www.pilgrimshoemachine.com/ or in the UK https://www.tesmc.com/machines-home http://www.shoerepairmachinery.co.uk/ afaik same Co. but different website: http://www.goodyearweltmachinery.co.uk/
  10. ha ha - very cool! in the UK someone sell Pfaff covers for a fair price too: http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/PFAFF-335-BOBBIN-CASE-COVER-CYLINDER-ARM-WALKING-FOOT-INDUSTRIAL-SEWING-MACHINE-/281306490911?hash=item417f2c681f:g:S84AAOxyeZNTVnsc
  11. probably depends on age and subclass. AFAIK Singer even sold Adler's 220 as their Singer 144w when they no longer produced them by their self (not too unusual). I´d check with Bob at Toledo Sewing Machines or Gregg from Keystone Sewing Machiens - they are long time dealer and for sure have lots of old records back to the stone age.
  12. Frobana machine weights ~35Kg, the crate I have to build will weight approx 15Kg so UPS shipping for a 50Kg package w/o building the shipping crate is 225€. Making a proper shipping carte from 1/2" plywood + 1" internal reinforcement planks, external heavy carton box, tape and other packaging material is approx 70€ So a good guess is 300€ for UPS shipping to the US incl. a custom made crate. EU shipping is cheaper and will be on a palett by freight forwarder.
  13. I do - but it is in German language. File is to big to attach if interested please send me your email address by PN
  14. I don´t have one but afaik the Singer 144w is pretty much the same machine too so maybe you can find something for this model
  15. Brian, thanks for your feedback. They are indeed very easy to use and very space saving. Only thing you have to "learn" is the position of the handle for threading and lifting the "mouth" and so on but that's nothing big. Regarding parts I would contact Ottobock / JosAmerica since they are the current manufacturer of these machines: https://www.ottobock-josamerica.com/en/service/service-request.html Just go a request for shipping to the US so I will post the shipping cost incl. building a shipping crate later. Just for the case some one from over the pond will be interested.
  16. reg. age - The late 1950´s models with this "colorful" Singer tag had a black flat bed. I´d say yours is early 1960´s onward. But not sure when exactly the switched from 2 tone to 1 tone machines Maybe the attached manual will help you a bit. Service Manual Singer 221G155_211G156.pdf
  17. I have fully functional Frobana Outsole Stitcher for sale. http://www.ebay.com/itm/FROBANA-Doppelmaschine-Durchnahmaschine-Schuster-Sattler-Nahmaschine-/201814164585 Very easy to use machine. Prefer EU shipping by freight forwarder on a pallet but can ship to US and elsewhere on request but have to check shipping costs in advance and most likely have to build a shipping crate but it´s not impossible. These Frobana stitchers are still manufactured but not under the Frobana brand, they are sold by Ottobock / JOS America as Outsole stitcher F42. https://www.ottobock-josamerica.com/de/produkten/75-20-2910-0.html?Itemid=266 I have seen them as AFL 85 outsole stitchers as well. So parts wont be a problem I´d say (if ever needed). Needle system is 761 PG and they are available w/o bigger problems at least in Germany but most likely available from machine dealers as well. http://www.rimgm.de/shop/NADELN/Nadel-761-PG-5-Schmetz-10-Stueck.html?listtype=search&searchparam=761 http://www.wdn.de/artinfo.php?artnr=A 33505
  18. Eric, I however cannot afford a new one but you never know what you come across . I narrowed down to Brother BAS 311 but, well, that was just an idea... I of course have my eyes open but you never know what you will find... So you would generally say do not buy a used programmable tacker? I really would love to have a Singer 68/69 but on my side of the pond I most likely will not find the cam discs need. And switching them is probably a too big challenge for me so thats why I had the idea with a programmable x Box tacker... Maybe not the best idea....
  19. Once again well done Clever idea! Next thing I want to see from you is a hoover board for sewing machines tables. I mean Nike now has the self tying shoes so....
  20. Eric or Gregg do guys you have experience with programmable bar tack machines? I often sew different sizes of box stacks from 1/2" up to 2" most of the time with 138 thread. I still can do it with the 111 but its a quite annoying job.
  21. I acquired a bunch of NOS 6021 Needles + 8036 Awls for Sutton Rapid E, Pedersen, Rafflenbeul Sole Stitcher. I have no use for them. 5x Pack of 10 6021 Needles #41 5x Pack of 10 6021 Needles #39 5x Pack of 10 8036 #39 Awls $40 per pack of 10 needles or awls. Shoe Plus ask $70 for 10 6021 needles and $90 for 8036 10 awls so I think the price is quite fair. 5% off when buying 2 packs. 10% off when buying at least 4 packs. Paypal accepted. Worldwide registered Airmail is $7.50 for 1 pack of 10 (trackable through USPS website if sent to the US). Please send PM if interested or need more information.
  22. HOLY SMOKES - ARE YOU KIDDING ME? What a pile of machines Do you wanna restore them all?
  23. drill new holes and cut new threads . Thats the cheapest way. I think I also have seen complete binding sets with dedicated feet, feed dog, needle plate and right side slide plate for the 111 type machines EDIT: like this: http://www.ebay.com/sch/Crafts/14339/i.html?_from=R40&_nkw=singer+111+binding or modify a "beefed up" right side slide plate - see description: http://www.ebay.com/itm/SLIDE-COVER-ATTACHMENT-PLATE-RIGHT-INSIDE-240003SP-SINGER-111W-CONSEW-225-226-/122269724581?hash=item1c77d7efa5:m:mStaA8tlTrxIPshRdNQUnrQ
  24. ha ha - Old cast iron... a barn full of it.... Seems I have to book a trip to Indonesia I basically have restored / overhauled ALL my machinesby my self - some needed more TLC and some less. So my answer is: I would at least try it. And if you can´t restore all machines then maybe they are worth selling some of their spare parts to gain $$ for restoring other machines. Well, since you have a lot of different types and brands of machines you should do it one by one... generally you will not have many problems finding parts for Singer clones, Seiko, Juki and Mitsubishi machines I think. For the other brands you have to find out if they are probably clones of other brands meaning if other brands had the same machine but with a different name - or the like. If I had the machines I would start with Seiko followed by Juki / Mitsubishi and then maybe Pfaff since Pfaff parts are often quite expensive. Later on I´d focus on the other brands.
  25. Hey Henry, would be nice to see another A1 "alive". But the parts are totally different, maybe one or the other smaller screw from the #6 may fit but everything else is quite different. The #6 shuttle is WAY larger than the A1 shuttle.
