I noticed your strap has adjustment slots front and back. that's some serious slot making. what brand and size oblong punch do you use to make the slots?
-
Was looking at the weaver oblong. They are pricey, that's ok as long as the do the job.I have a weaver round punch that is excellent one whack with my deadblow and I have a clean perfect 3/8" hole. What size slot does your weaver oblong make. Width/length, some punches make too narrow a slot for sliding a strap through.

Help. I need recommendations where to buy Quality oblong punch that will make slots 1 1/4 width x 1/4" And needs to be Sharp. Making guitar straps - adjustment strap slots. I had a bad experience with Osbourne punch came new dull. I want to punch a slot with a whack, It takes too much time to marking, punching, cut slots

Has Anyone Used One Of These Presses?
paprhangr replied to finnb's topic in Leatherwork Conversation
I use the Tandy Press for punching holes (sometimes on sale for 1/2 price) Black River Laser sells the die that holds the mini punch at a much lower price. I use the Gold Star press for rivets, snaps ( dies cost much less) they don't sell the leather hole punches -
I just got big side (10' long)Tandy on sale for $69, black chrome tanned 2-3 oz, making 4 slot wallet. will work good for bags and lining
