  1. check out Billy, he is a one man holster shop mccabescustomleather.com
  2. I wet molded the last seat I made so I could have a ledge to machine sew the top and bottom together, like in the pics above. the other seats I made I did not wet mold, I stitched pieces together ( no ledge) using round braid which looks alot better if you have the time. The braid covers the seem. I learned a lot from reading Dave T. thread. check out buttskinz.com
  3. I have the 206 rb 5 servo gear reduction motor 500GR,( 1st machine) sews belts 10oz veggie just fine. seems to work best with a 92 thread 20 needle. I have used 138 with a 22 ok, machine seem to struggle with 207 with a 23 needle. Sovran, what needle/thread do you use? I do hand wheel to kick start the first couple start up punches and when I slow down and reverse. I think I am developing a feel for the machine, foot and hand feel. adjusting tension, pressure foot, changing needle often.
  4. They carry some http://www.buckleguy.com/belt-tips-loops/

  11. Tandy has their Deluxe Leather splitter 6" blade on sale now for $250 normally $500 Anyone have one of these? looks like it would be handy for skiving buckle ends, etc
  12. I was wondering about their products, I want a sealer that is non gloss and will repel water. Resolene cut 50% with water works but still looks shiny to me.
  13. looks Great, what adhesive do you use?
  14. I'm no expert. Got air brush last year. Happy with the way it works, You might try a different size tip, my paasche VL siphone fed came with 3tips, I use the bigger one gives a more broader spray when I back off some. It came with 2oz bottles, hobby lobby has 4 oz. the air brush does a good job of spray dyes and resolene, and fading is easy. I clean up with denatured alcohol after every use. No problems.
  15. I tried one , hit it with my lighter, melt the cut thread ends, wet a little at the fold on back side, tighten down with chi screws, put a clamp on it for a few minutes, Should be ok,
  16. Wiz could you explain about sandng the edges of the feet my 206 is leaving footmarks
  17. Arthur Porter has another helpful you tube video ,"how to master the industrial sewing machine"
  18. Here is one I made, single layer stitching is only decorative,9-10 oz
  19. When making belts that I hope to sell later, I figured I would cut them long, have everything finished and stitched except the buckle end, then when the belt is sold, I can cut to size, make up the buckle end install the buckle. This I could finish the belt on location Question.... When I skive at the buckle fold I will be cutting the threads which could cause the stitching to unravel back toward the tongue....Ooops. What do you guys do? I'm all ears
  20. Just got my 10 straps, lookn good, all over 62", 10oz, pasted smooth backs, fast delivery, good price Thanks, Ludlow Leather
  21. hands free reverse, my consew 206 could use one too
  22. That would be very useful, and could screw in the punch size needed. I have chucked the punch in my drill press for drilling holes with some success but punch burns the holes
  23. be nice o use the press for punching hole for revit & snaps. I got a Goldstar press last week. I need a 5/64" hole for 8mm rivet , the smallest die on Goldstar menu was 1/4" which is too big
