  1. Looks great! Everything works well with the theme, including the stitching. Just curious - what did you use for the stitching?
  2. Nothing fancy here, for sure ... just a simple, molded sleeve that will be left in a purse to help protect one of those super thin, super big iPhones. I find working with natural coloured leather a bit of a challenge. Little mistakes seem to pop right out at you and keeping the leather clean is an effort for me, also. 5/6 oz veg tan, hand stitched at 7 spi with 5 cord linen thread. Finished and conditioned with Montana Pitch Blend. (My apologies. I really do not understand why most of my pics are appearing upside down. When you click on it, it will appear right side up)
  3. Looks great! Lots of planning and work in that, for sure!
  4. Great story, silverbullet ... that's the good stuff that money can't buy
  5. Looks great! I really appreciate the effort you put into this.
  6. Here's a shot that shows the back and edge. I am really happy with the edge on the main body but not so happy with the edges on the strap.
  7. Thanks, Plowboy73! I had a lot of fun making it. I put it together for a close friend of mine, who lives in northern Ontario. Her father gave her the knife when she was 11 and means a lot to her. it has seen a lot of use, for sure, and she still takes it on every canoe trip. It's a sweet little knife, just 7" from the butt to the tip of the blade. I am going to post a couple more pics, separately.
  8. Thought I would share a photo of my latest project. 7/8 oz veg tan Welt No rivets other than the snap The stitching for the strap and belt loop are protected with an inner leather patch to protect the stitching The inner snap hardware is covered with a leather patch to protect the blade This was my first belt knife sheath. MAN, that's a lot of fiddly work
  9. I always enjoy seeing your work. Beautiful.
  10. You are progressing quickly, for sure. Try using Etsy as a resource to establish your own pricing, but make sure you are comparing apples to apples. You need to find similar products with the same skill level you are at. Resolene. Cut it 50/50 with water. Wrap a sponge with a piece of soft cotton cloth & soak that in water - squeeze out till just damp. Dip in the resolene and squeeze out again. Wipe on VERY lightly, in one direction. Wait an hour and do a second coat. Works for me, every time. The leather looks like leather and feels like leather. Sometimes I will put on three coats - still gives me a nice finish. I always using Fiebings pro oil dye.
  11. Welcome here! Looking forward to seeing more of your work!
