So my work just bought a new Cobra sewing machine and gave me an old singer. Time to learn how to sew better!!

Thank you very much. I made a series of Aztec things for cinco de mayo and did pretty good overall. That damn Aztec warrior, which was the hardest one came out better than I hoped for. Maybe I can get a stamp made that big to save me some time lmao!!!

Thank you boriqua. The Aztec warrior piece was silhouette done by beveling the inside then using a background tool. Then I used the dark cocoa stain that came in the deluxe beginner kit and went over the silhouette to make it stand out more.

I will try to post them up so you can see a rough of what I am talking about. I think it would work but sure it would take some getting use too lol.

I have not had a chance to pick any of them up or read through any of them. I was going to attend a figure carving class at the Tandys out here but couldnt make it on the day they had it. I have heard that they are very good books to have though.

Hi Tim. I have similar problems with hand strength due to injuries sustained in Afghanastan. My hands go numb all the time and trying to hold on to the small tools seems to cause pain after a short while and I have had the tools slip while trying to work too. I just try to take little breaks every 30 minutes to allow my nerve damage to not become inflammed and for me to "shake it out". A friend of mine is going to try to put a removable "handle" with something I could tighten around the tool itself. Kind of like a motorcycle grip with a clip to hold the stamping tools so I can still manuever the angle of the tools while holding onto something bigger to help my problems. We will see what happens with that. Good luck Gabriel

Thanks Harley. I am going to start it when I get home from work. I am going to do it on a piece that I could use for something if it turns out ok (not much faith that it will)!!! I think the hardest part for me is keeping the lines of the face smooth and flowing. That is what makes the picture in my point. If this turns out I may have to do some good Old Nagels on leather too. Here are a couple of my drawings of them for the heck of it.

I couldn't find any either so I went to my old baseball card holders and have been using those. They work great!!!

I know its the 26Th of April but I have this sketch of mine that I think would work for this breakthrough challenge. The concept when I did it is of someone freeing there mind so that would be the breakthrough LOL!!! Does that count? I have never done a womans face before so I think this will be interesting.

There are some places out here that have a few horses and in the middle of the fields are old barn like structures. Friend and I are thinking of stopping by a someday and asking if we can rummage through them to look. Kinda like American picker style lol.

I will post dimensions/measurements tomorrow. If anyone wants I will take pictures of the assembly as well.
