  1. Dude, that's an awesome collar. I didn't know you could get "sea snake". Really cool.
  2. Thanks for adding extra pictures. I hope you show these to the client - it makes it a lot more obvious how difficult it was. And shows the texture of the leather nicely.
  3. That is a nice bag. Must have taken a lot of patience! Who knew that dull looking needles could do so much damage?
  4. Wow, way-super-cool! Thanks for including the step-by-step pictures!
  5. Heh, thank you WScott. That's right, just wait until I get to trumpets. Just kidding, probably.

Thanks for explaining your method! I really like how what you did darkened the tooling without obscuring the whole pattern, as seems to happen with antiquing unless you resist.

Ha, ditto, Play2mefish. Cool project! In fact, lovely. Did you use an antiquing gel?
  8. Interesting. I've never used that kind of leather. It certainly looks clean. In fact, I couldn't figure out how it wasn't dark from burnishing, but still looked good.
  9. Thanks for the kind comments, everyone! It only lasted two hours in my etsy shop, so I guess I should make another one. And maybe a mandolin one, as well!
  10. I don't make saddles, but I'd buy it. If I had a horse, that is.
  11. Lovely! I love the seat and the color, and well, everything.
  12. Yep, that's how it starts. Trying to save money, but spending way more than you were trying to save. But not to be regretted, because it's so fun! I don't know anything about holsters, but they look great!
  13. Really nice! Very simple and nice. You could burnish the edges (not that I'm one to talk), but otherwise, it looks great.
  14. Ha ha, the market will be suddenly and inexplicably flooded with them . . .
  15. Thanks, everyone! I can't take credit for the idea; I saw a beautiful journal someone had made in this style, but I couldn't find out who had made it or if it was for sale anywhere. Maybe it was someone on this forum!
  16. Hi all, I just finished using the rest of the Austin leather I had. I had just enough to make this decent sized purse, or whatever you want to call it. It's 9 oz. Austin leather, and I hand stitched all of the details. Thanks for looking! Monica
  17. Sweet! I especially like the indigo color and leather. It looks awesome. The football style leather is sweet, too, and I'm not even into football.
  18. LOL, WS. Nice! I really like the scabbard. And the knife. I drool.
  19. That looks like a very nice case. I'd love to have one myself.
  20. Etsy works okay for me because I'm a hobbiest and can only work on things for an hour or two a day. But in general, I've heard that if people can actually hold your work, they'll pay considerably more for it. Art Fairs, etc. I have three kids and no time for that sort of thing, so I do etsy. It's a bit slow. It probably takes me 6 - 9 months to sell things. However, I never pay for advertising. I suppose if you do, and actually market your stuff, you'd probably have no problem.
