I saw something similar online and wanted to see if I could make a variation of it. Basically it is a belt loop that you can clip keys, wallet chains etc to. Fun little project.

A friend asked me to make her son a wallet to commemorate them living in Japan. Here is what I came up with.

I have been thinking of making some gear for a fire fighter friend. I would love to get some templates if you are sharing them!

I don't know how many beers it holds, but took over a case to make!

I am a big fan of giving credit where it is due, and of sharing my experience when I think I have been screwed. Unfortunately, this review is the latter. In the beginning of July 2013 I ordered some buckles from eleathersupply.com. I got an immediate electronic confirmation of my order, and my card was also charged immediately. I didnt get any more word from them for a couple days, and I was expecting some kind of confirmation or shipping notice. I called them after about three days to ask if my order had shipped only to be told that the items ordered were on back order. I asked if they had planned on telling me, to which the man replied that if he had to notify everyone when a product was on back order, that is all he would have to do all day! I should have taken the hint that the company is not professional at all at this point and cancelled my order, but I also like to give people the benefit of the doubt, so I told him I still want the buckles and asked when will they ship. He said 1-2 weeks. It is now September 12. I sent an email last week asking about my still outstanding order and if he could just cancel the order and return the funds through my credit card...No response. I called the number on the website...mailbox is full. Saving grace is that I did not make a large order, only about $30.00 worth, but the fact remains that my money is gone, and I have no buckles to show for it. This is no way to conduct business on so many levels. My advice is this, take your business elsewhere!

Awesome work. What do you use to texture the skull like that?

Looks great!

I thought about rounding them, but I figured it would look better against the straight cut front flap. Plus, I always seem to screw up those round edges! I got the leather from Springfield Leather. It is very soft, easy to manipulate. Cutting is as advertised, like cutting butter. It is very oily and waxy, so for gear that will be used outside, I definitely recommend it. Perfect for motorcycle gear and bushcraft. More pricey, but I think it is well worth it because it exudes quality. Just my humbleopinion however!

Thank you all very much! The snake skin is sea snake. I bought some a while back and glad I finally got to use some it! It is very subdued, but beautiful.

My friends wife asked me to make him a tool bag for his bike, so this is my interpretation. Not a standard bag I suppose, but a little more minimal., if that even makes sense! It is made from 5-6 oz black Horween chromexcel. I am really spoiled when I work with this leather. It is simply awesome! I need to make a hat or something out of it so I can smell this stuff all day! Comments and critiques are welcome! Thanks!

From the album: Samurai Quiver
Quiver I made for a friend in Japan. The inlay is sea snake, since I used to see them there when I used to dive there. The body and straps are 8-9 oz Horween chromexcel, and 8-9 oz Hermann Oak. Lined with pig skin and some rolled edging on the top is calfskin. Comments / criticism welcome!
