  1. Thanks Steve, I was a bit nervous when I was stitching this one, cuz I wasnt sure you'd even be able to make out the design. It took about six hours in just stitch work, so it wouldve really sucked to not be able to use it. I use a juki 1541 Most of what I do, I use 69 or 92. KK
  2. I use a juki 1541 and love it. The only thing I wish I had was a roller foot machine, that would make things just a bit easier and quicker. Thanks Ed. I have been asked alot about how I transfer the designs and maybe, you never know, I may put something together. But for now, I am still perfecting my technique and at the moment keeping it as my trade secret. I can tell you this much though, It is VERY simple. If I told you, you would groan and say "thats it?" and "why the hell didnt I think of that". I never get tired of hearing the nice things you all have to say. Thanks very much! KK
  3. If you can get photoshop for $80. Buy it. Which version? Is it new? Thats a very good price for photoshop. KK
  4. I've been thinking about this one a bit. I think your "style" is an ever evolving process. Just look back at your first project and compare to what your making now. Is it the same? Or has it evolved as your experience grows? I dont know if I can define my style personally. Someone here on LW called my work "biker elegant". So maybe your style is actually defined by others? The examples given in the first post of BMW, hummer, etc. are all more examples of "branding" which is key in big commercial success. Personally, I don't know if I want to be branded. KK
  5. very nice. You've definately got an eye for style. I'm with GH on the stitching and zipper. One thing I would add is some kind of liner to cover the exposed flesh side in the interior (big suprise huh) I am also wondering how that ring post is attached. Does it swivel? or is it tight? KK
  6. I like it. KK
  7. That looks NICE! I had a boss for a couple of months and HATED it. I paid 950 for it and sold it for 1000, so it turned out ok. KK
  8. Thank you all very much. Ya Ya Ya, I know, I got some new thread colors. I started getting tired of red, orange, yellow, black, and white. I like the blue too. Thanks Dave. Its cow. 1-1.5 oz. garment. I did a tute before the LW meltdown. If I can find the time, i'll see what I can come up with. I was also wanting to put together a woodgrain howto, if anyone would be interested in that. KK
  9. 1. Here is the foot I use for the topstitch work. What i'd really like to have is a machine with a roller foot, but I love my juki. 2. Yes, it is an inlay overlay. 3. The card pockets are all leather, 1 oz. garment.

  13. Elephant body with frog inlay and blue contrast stitching. No fancy lining in this one, I was going for a dark feel. KK

  23. Thanks, I use a Juki 1541. Love it. I dont know Bill Wall. Bill has turned more into a business man than a craftsman and pays people to make his stuff (mostly) He will still travel to Japan and whatnot to set up shop at his retailers on occasion. From a biz perspective, probably pretty smart. Ron Bryant used to work for Bill and is now doing very well on his own as you can see from his site. I have spoken with Ron a few times and he seems like a good guy. Bill on the other hand...i dont know. KK
  24. I totally agree with steveb, I think Rons work is probably the best out there. KK
