  1. You need to get the right holster for the gun. No amount of remolding will make that gun fit properly. If the person that sold it to you said it would fit your gun then make'em eat it. Many salesmen/salespersons will say anything to close a sale as most of them are on commission. When I was still in the biz made thousands of holsters and I only once let a gun shop sell my stuff once because of that very reason. The shop sells a holster that they know won't fit and then later refers the customer to the holster maker after a problem pops up. If you modify the holster you will have no chance of a refund or exchange.
  2. If you can get the 9 then you can do 40s also. The 40 will squeez into the 9 but the 9 is too loose in a holster made for a 40.
  3. The 40s are a little thicker than the 9s but not much.
  4. Springfield "dose" get a lot of stuff from tandy. Weaver dose not.
  5. End of problem! I got a hold of Bob Kavar at Toledo Industrial Sewing Machines and he had them in stock so I ordered 2 springs as well as thread and oil. He has everything I'll ever need for my Techsew 3650 and was willing to give me lots of advice even tho I bought the machine from a competitor. He's one hell of a nice guy. My next machine will be from him.
  6. I got the same thing but I run linux (Slackware64) and it's very difficult for that stuff to get into my box.
  7. I get all mine from Weaver. You have to be carefull buying from tandy. Tandy's Gun Metal Black chicago screws seem to be ok but my stock of them is old. There quality can change quickly.
  8. Is there another source for parts for this machine? I want to buy a presser foot spring and Techsew has non available till the end of July. This is a new machine and it's working perfect for what I wanted it for but I had to shorten the presser foot spring a little to minimize the feed dog marks. The spring that it came with was so strong that I couldn't adjust it to a light touch. I only want a new spring in case I want to return it to stock condition for some reason. Like I said the machine isn't broke down and there's no panic right now but a one month wait time on parts concerns me should something go wrong which I don't think anything will because this machine is built like a tank and seems like it will last for many years. Is there another machine that has compatible parts? Or maybe an after market supplier?
  9. The Boss is hard to beat for getting into tight places. I used one for 12 years and passed it on to my son who took over my holster biz and he's been useing it for 1 1/2 years. The boss will do things my Techsew 3650 won't. The only draw back to the Boss is makeing belts will wear you out.
  10. I've used there 346 on a Boss for 10 or 12 years and never had a problem. There 277 and 346 works good on the Techsew 3650HD that I just got also. I got 2 rolls of 346 from Springfield that constantly hung up in the bobbin on the Boss but the 3650 liked it.
  11. Beautiful, Incredible, and last but not least – WOW!
  12. Ok, I hate feeling left out. Please let me in.
  13. Nice job! The size is just right and nothing can fall out of it.
  14. I started selling holsters on ebay back around 2000, and sence then I've had every kind of scammer you can think of come at me. My favorite was the Better Business Bureau settelment that some fool thought I would pay.
  15. I would suggest to him that he become intimate with himself.
  16. Thanks! This is the one I'm guna go for. http://shop.raphaelsewing.com/index.php?main_page=product_info&cPath=30_40&products_id=330
  17. Thanks Ferg! My stuff would all use 277 - 346 and the 5100 is what I'm leaning towards for the pressor foot lift.
  18. I'm guna be buying my 1st machine after many years of useing a Boss. I'm looking at the Techsew stuff but cant find any reference to maximum bobbin thread size on there site. I want to be able to sew with 346 top and bottom like I could with my Boss. Dose anyone know what the maximum bobbin thread sizes are for these machines? Techsew 3650 Techsew 4100 Techsew 5100 Thanks!
  19. Sorry I can't remember, I gave the machine to my son so it's not here for me to look at. The way I picked the size was by whatching the needle slide down a 346 thread at about 45 degrees. 346 is all I used to work with. That Boss is an excelent maching for sewing horsehide holsters. Jumping off point for bobbin tension is about 16 .oz of pull and then fine tune from there. Trigger pull scale is what I used to use to measure it. After you get used to it you'll find the Boss to be a perfect holster machine.
  20. I sewed a lot of hard rolled horse butts with a Boss using 346 and found that the stuff is easier to sew wet to get the thread to embed into the horsehide. Pressor foot marks can be burnished out while it's still wet.
