  1. Schno, if your coming by umbrella watch the wind that volcano can get pretty hot.. those little umbrellas don't have a lot of control.. hell you might catch one of the trade winds and end up in japan
  2. man, i thought i was the only neet-freak.. its good to know i'm not the only one out here that needs to have the tools in their right place.. its like going to bed with out the bed being made i just can not do it....

  5. when i first started engraving. i use only my eyes.. if you don't need magnification don't start until you really need it. don't do what i did..i first worked with reading glass then wanted more power went to a optvisor. then reading glasses with optvisor.. and now most of my work is done under a microscope.. just to see what i use to see with only my eyes before(old age part of it not takeing care of my eye big part of it) the thing to look at before magnification is your lighting get the best you can..

Nice Work ,Roo just make sure you take care of your lungs!!! i had a friend die after years of doing almost this same type of work. because he didn't think it looked cool to wear a mask..not to smart i'd say.. just be vary careful.. not only your lungs but it also works on your nervous system..not pretty...just my 2cents..

I just cane across this machine.. close to where i live.said it was just serviced .. asking $400. it has a walking foot attachment for it.. only think is the speed can it be slowed down 5000 stitches per min. and can it be used for leather and what weight how thick of leather do you think it will do..or should i just stay with my plan to get a LS-1 and be done with it.. any thought on this machine please help

  15. It is actually very simple to raise the clearance of the outer presser foot: loosen two screws, adjust to the height needed, tighten those two screws. For the inner foot: loosen one screw, adjust height, and tighten. Ed, the screws i was talking about are the one in this quote.. did you make the holes longer for the adjustment or is there room for that adjustment already for up and down height of the feet..
  16. Ed, so you tryed 277/138 in the machine what size needle did you use with that size thread? also what size needle did you use with the 207/138 thread thanks for the info.. do you have to make screw holes bigger or is there room for that adjustment on the machine already?
  17. Bruce, i like your idea of useing rope for the Celtic design.. like sodapop said i think it would look great on saddle related stuff .. i to would like to see a demo on your rope work..great job!!

  19. i'm going to take a look at some of the other machines the prices look good.. i see some of you have zigzag machines and also straight stitch.is there one better than the other when working on leather...or is it you can use the zigzag for other type of sewing other that leather.. or can you use zigzag for leather to.. sorry newbie here just trying to learn

  22. well after looking around at sewing machines to start learning on and what i can afford and i don't have alot of room in my shop.. i'm thinking about a sailrite ultrafeed LSZ-1 or a LS-1 does any one here have one and whats your thoughts on it.. good or bad i'd like to know now before i buy.. thanks for your help and advise...
