Amazing work, you can see every little hair.
  3. This is great Cheryl and Andrea and parts of it are hilarious. I had a better time reading it then you did living it.
  4. He is very adorable, great job.
  5. Beautiful, great job, love the knot work.
  6. I hope you have a great drive back with no weather issues. Hopefully you had fun and got some cool stuff. I can't wait for next year.
  7. So, your gazelles are prong horn antelope ( like in where the deer and the antelope play.) We have them in southern Alberta also. Sounds like some great stuff there. I hope you were able to access your money. What taxi does not take a credit card. Even if she got herself a Square she would be better off than none at all. You didn't say if you got to your class on Saturday or not. I hope you made your class today (Sunday) and had a good time.
  8. Some of my leather that was chosen long ago and was crappy, I have found a use for. I can do key fobs, necklaces etc. You will always find a use for leather, bad or good. I never throw small pieces of leather away, you will find a use for them if you think hard enough. When I moved for awhile I couldn't find my old rawhide or poly mallets for a bit, I used a hammer, you just have to be careful. There are certain name brand items that cost a fortune. I have never found a need to spend that much money on something I can make with something less expensive. The one thing I will spend big bucks on is my leather. However, if I can get it less expensive and just as good quality I do. Yes, I like the best but if it is only high and price and I pay for a name I would rather purchase tools that I can get for a reasonable price.
  9. Not only is your work great but so is that fantastic website.
  10. Absolutely magnificent! I would love to know more about your process, those are movie quality!
  11. Jazzy, It was fun having you in chat, just wish it could have been longer. I know you will be back to visit in sprit. I understand you needing to spend these precious moments with your family. From your second family my friend. I am sorry to see you leave but I hope your move to a higher realm is peaceful and fast.
  12. Hi Felis, as we come from all over the world it is best if you tell us where you are at, then the right person will apply. If you are in Australia no use for me or someone from the US, the shipping alone would be horrible.
  13. So sorry to see you go, Jazzy, you will be missed. Please come back if you are able to in the future, Definitely loved meeting you. Wishing you the very best.
  14. Stunningly beautiful!
  15. What a beauty!
  16. I personally would have made the front and back flap one piece. I would have rounded the corners and burnished the edges. The carving however is stupendous, very excellently done. I don't like the front flap it does nothing for the look of the bag being sewn that way. One thing you must remember is that you are the leather worker. You are supposed to have the expertise, many times customers want something but it won't look good. That is just their misguided fantasy. You are the one who needs to steer them the right way. I would have also lined it because if one is putting anything like a tablet or computer that could scratch in it. A nice pigskin lining adds class and makes the bag very nice and soft inside.
  17. I hate to say this Dirkba, but there is no where in Canada or North America you can get insurance to cover that for $25. My tenant insurance I pay $800 a year and it doesn't cover any of that. Of course if I was extremely wealthy I could get the insurance that may cover that for an extra $1000 a year. Leather would still not be covered anyway because it is considered an expendable product. Not all insurance polices are created equal.
  18. Welcome carsonm from another Canadian. I am so jealous that you have already done shoes. Did you have someone to show you how to do the shoes?
  19. Most insurance policies will not cover that loss unless it is a foundation leak. Then if you can get an insurance company to cover that on home owners insurance it means an expensive rider has to be initiated. He would not be able to put that on his leather in his fathers house. His father would have to have that policy and that rider which is not easy to get.
  20. I am sure it will turn out very well, you are well on your way.
  21. They cannot register your name with it's spelling and if you got .com at the end. They can however do it with .net, tv, .ca or any of the others or change the spelling. The thing is whomever you are registered with knows how long you have had that URL I would not be worried about it. They have tried to steal my business names before I have told them to go ahead and try and they have failed miserably.
  22. So this is only a hobby? Are you freaking nuts, this is great! Keep your inherited equipment and it shall be a business. This is a great rig.
  23. Stunning boots.
  24. Leather working is forever and will never turn it's back on you or be jealous. Anyone who is not a leather worker or artist will never understand.
  25. Those are adorable, I love the them, they are beyond cute.
