  1. Ray, I have all the Rob Barr videos, I've done almost all of them but not the eagle head. When I first got into carving it was all Al stolman, I've got nearly every thing he put out also, but the Rob Barr stuff really takes it to another level. I learned more about figure carveing, dyeing and painting from his videos than all the other books and videos put together. I've got a couple of George Hurst also including that one and they are ok. Looks like your tv going to be busy for awhile. Troy
  2. Thanks Thor, I really appreciate your effort in trying to help. Those are 1" conchos with a 3/8 slot, The ones I'm looking for would have approximately 1/8 and 3/16 slots.
  3. Thor, I'm looking for the sizes 3/8" and 1/2" exactly. Yes 3/16 is half the size of 3/8 and they are too small. Rio Rancho doesn't sell any thats bigger than 3/16, and the sites camano ridge suggested doesn't sell anything smaller than 1 inch.
  4. Good deal Ray, how about a picture when you done.
  5. Thanks camano ridge but they don't have any that small.
  6. Did you see the how to make custom colors out of the basic colors chart? It gives you the exact formula for every question you have asked.
  7. Al Stolman has a chart just for what your talking about. It's either in the pictoral or figure carving finesse book, they are for spirit dyes but I don't see why they wouldn't work for oil dyes.
  8. Does anyone know where I can find some 3/8" and 1/2" slotted conchos? I looked at Rio Rancho and their biggest is 3/16.
  9. David, that really depends on what kind of leather work your going to start off doing. Floral? figure carving? bags? billfolds? holsters? The basic tool list are different.
  10. Look in the for sale section, theres been some posted there recently.
  11. He says they redress the old ways so they won't be lost to future generations. Sounds like another repeat of Al Stolman's stuff thats fairly cheap at Tandy, I could be wrong but thats the impression I got.
  12. sure a square knot will work, just tap it flat. With the thread going twice thru the holes it probly doesn't need a knot with a good glue like Barge.
  13. I'm guessing he sewed, left the ends between the fold then glued the fold down.
  14. Someone posted a video on just that a few days ago on this forum. It will probly be in the howto section.
  15. Ray, It was a local buy sell trade site, I only had to go about 4 miles to pick it up. They come up every now and then for anywhere from 25 to 40 dollars. The player is built in, you just slide the cd-dvd into a slot on the side of the tv. Good luck finding one they are really nice to have.
  16. Sorry Ray, can't help you there, spent too much time trying to avoid badge cases to get a good look at them.
  17. Ray, I put a wall mounted tv-dvd-cd player with remote in my shop. It's awesome for that, got it and the wall mount for 20 dollars on a buy sell trade site on facebook. It's worth the trouble. I don't have cable or an antenna so no tv but I can play music or watch dvds.
  18. Ray, the fannanater posted the link to Chuck Burrows on your other post.
  19. Thats nice, the stitching is very nice.
  20. Chuck Burrows has a dvd if you want fancy ones.
  21. Dusty Johnson has a video but I don't know about a book.
  22. I really like them patterns. Nice and busy without a lot of background. To bad I don't do saddles.
  23. Does that actually cut the leather or just crease it?
  24. Is that another embossing plate?
