  1. @MidWestIslander Thanks for the comment! Yes, I was a challenge. The toughest part was getting one side to stay while I worked on the other. But, It wasn't as bad as I originally thought. @eglideride To answer the first question "why"?- He wanted to be different. He saw the stingray/leather bike I did (my avatar) and wanted something done to his bike that was out of the ordinary. Bugs? Well, we will see. He understands the risk and said he wanted to try it anyway... I attacked the leather by strategically gluing places on the face of the fairing. I then wrapped the leather around the edges and glued it to the back side. The fairing "clam shells" together and aids holding it together. Also, the windshield bolts help at the top. Thanks for your questions/positive comments!!
  2. Thanks Twisted! I mink oiled the crap out of it. Told the guy to do that regularly and he understood the risks of the elements. I'll get pics of it on the bike and post them. Now, he wants the lids to the fiberglass saddlebags covered...
  3. Had a request from a friend to cover his Harley's front fairing in leather. With several curves, it posed a challenge. What do y'all think?
  4. Great work, my friend! What did you use to finish it?

  11. Does anyone know where I can find Varsity style stamps that are half to an inch big? Here's a sample of the font I'm looking for. Doesn't have to be exactly like these just something along these lines...
  12. @Andrew Chee I bought a cheap bracelet off eBay to get this "A".
  13. Thanks Calait! Love yours, too! My wife gave me free rein on the design this time. It's been a while since I hand stitched but, it was like riding a bicycle!
  14. Thanks, OhSewPrettyLeather!!
  15. Made this today for my wife...
  16. AWESOME!! Thanks guys!!
  17. Anyone have a source for a Ruger SR40c dummy gun?
  18. In just stingray, I had $35 in the seat, another $35 for the brake/clutch levers, $90 for the tank, and $120 for the rear fender. So, $280 in hides... Ordered all of them from a seller on eBay. I'll have to try cutting on the flesh side... GREAT IDEA!
  19. I did the entire bike in my avatar out of stingray/leather.... Like you, I found stingray to be difficult to cut. It was nearly impossible to cut it in a straight line. I had no edges of stingray to burnish, so I can't comment on that. But, it sure makes a beautiful piece when finished... Here's a better pic:
  20. Outstanding work!! What are the dimensions of this case? Thanks!!
