Financial Rape and Plunder of the World
rawhide1 replied to Jordan's topic in All About Us and Off Topic
Well here in Ks. they were talking about not giving tax refunds that were owed. Because the state didn't have the money. So since I owe every year I'm going to send them a note saying I'm I'll pay them later because I don't have the money now. Mike -
John Congratulations!!!!! Great looking kid!! Enjoy every minute of it they grow faster than weeds. Mike

Jake Nice looking work!!!! I especially like the hobbles. Thanks for sharing Mike

I go 1and1/2 more on things I'm braiding that do not have a core and aren't very long. For things with a core I go at least twice as long. Mike

Joe Another idea maybe some zipper pulls. Four strand round braid with a simple four bight turkshead and a interweave. Mike

In a earlier post I stated people usually get sick when someone uses the rest room and doesn't wash their hands before handling food. I was thinking of e coli not salmonella. My apologies for the mistake. Mike

entiendo I agree with everything Hedge and Horsehairbraider said. But I use a little vice to hold one end of my work with. And sometimes the braid doesn't look the best on the back. But after you roll it when your done it always seems to look a whole lot better. Just my .02 Mike

Suze I didn't mean to offend ya. I guess I missed the part about house pets. I live out in the county and have four dogs and I treat them like dogs. Which means they run the woods and eat dead things and yes poop. Although we do keep our catahoula (sp) in the house in a kennel at night. That's how nature made them. So maybe if people would treat a dog like a dog instead of a like a pampered kid THEIR dogs immune system would work like it should! And I'm not saying not to take care of your animals such as shots and what not. People usually get sick from salmonella when someone doesn't wash their hands after pooping and then handles food that someone is going to eat. That's the biggest culprit as far as people go. And quite honestly for awhile when ever someone gets food poisoning some how it will get traced back to the peanut butter. Mike

Suze Thanks for the warning. I guess I'm a little surprised such a thing would hurt a dog. My dogs as I'm sure others as well will eat anything. I mean they drag dead stuff up in the yard all the time. And some of the stuff has been dead for quite some time. Heck the other day I fed three of them a ham that was quite old and other than being swolled up from eating so much they were no worse for the wear. I know your intentions are well but I just don't know if I believe a dog can get sick from salmonella. Not to sound gross but dogs eat poop all the time and don't get sick. I'm thinking there was something else in those treats that made that dog die. I hope I don't come across as being argumentative as that is not my intention. Mike

hidepounder I'm not sure what the lacemaster does. But with Mr. Neuberts string cutter you just turn the dail to adjust the width you want your string cut at. Then when you get ready to bevel you turn the stop around so the notch is faceing your razor blade. Which allows you to bevel really narrow strings. I plan on having a machine shop cut me another angle in the barrel. So that I have another option on my bevel. For ease of use and the great job it does I think it's well worth the money. Mike

New Purse project
rawhide1 replied to Doug C's topic in Purses, Wallets, Belts and Miscellaneous Pocket Items
Doug Very nice!! Tell your daughter great job!! My wife is after me to make her a purse. I was wondering where you got the pattern from. As she like that stlye of purse. Mike -
Heather Nice work !!! I like the colors on the headstall. All your knots out of roo look great. Hoping not to offend as I know you didn't ask for a critque (sp). I think if you would split your rawhide down some the strings would lay better in your knots. As I said please don't take offense. Mike

Jim I have a Brain Nuebert string cutter/beveler. I like it because it has a dail to adjust the width. Which makes it pretty easy to adjust the width a hair if needed. The only down side is the cost (400.00) Just my .o2cents worth. Mike

Kate I'm glad you like it. I'm also glad it fit!! I had fun doing this and look forward to the next one. As a side note I thought I had tied that center knot wrong. So I redid it a couple of times and it would never come out right so I thought. So I went to reading a Gail Hought book and come to find out I had been doing it right the whole time. For some reason when that knot is done it looks like a person has missed passes in the center. It just goes to show ya learn something every day! Mike -
rawhider I was kinda of wondering the same thing awhile back. Let me know if ya get it and what you think of it. Mike

wildrose Thanks I knew I should of used sp ck LOL Bree I was kinda thinking that after the fact. But thanks anyway better late than never. Tony The hell with the blade. LOL I forgot just how many nerve ending there are in the end of your finger. Greg All I can say is that's takes some sack!! I would of screamed like a little girl and then had to change my britches! barra That's funny I probably would of cut myself with the head knife and then ran the awl through some body part. I always let my wife take my stitches out. But she uses scissors and tweezers.

Johanna Just tell Wade to hang his head like a whupped dog and bleed everywhere. She had to quit talking so she could help clean up the blood.LOL Well they finally got me in around noon today cost 25.00 bucks. But I'm pretty sure there will be a nice scar. It was obvious to me stitching is not my doctors strong point. He put two stitches in it about a half inch apart from each other. And the knots he tied where so big it looks like I got two big wads of thread on my finger. Oh well at least it's somewhat closed. Mike
-
Well Greg when the finger heals a little I'll try and get it sharp enough to go through the bone too. LOL Mike

Thanks Luke I hope to only do it once! sodapop I thought about gluing it but it's pretty dang deep and I aint sure if it would good getting the glue down in there. But by the time I get in there tomorrow it may be to late to stitch. Such is life. Mike
