Staples office supply has boxes of mylar for drafting. Maybe the stuff you are looking for? I think a lot of office supply places have "art" sections where you can get poster board, illustration board, tracing paper, mylar, etc.
Wow, last time I called them, they wouldn't even sell me a concho without a tax#. They wanted me to order through a local tractor supply store. I figured they must not want my business or my money, and I took my business and my money elsewhere.
Thanks for the great tutorial, Kathy! You made it look so easy. I've always admired the mule picture you did, and your horses are just fantastic.
I'm going to try a little figure carving this weekend. Maybe I'll share a photo if it doesn't turn out looking like a 2yr old did it. Stay tuned, or...... maybe not!
Awesome job, Kathy! So realistic looking!
I've always been chicken to try my hand at figure carving, but I think I may just try it out very soon. May I ask where you got your patterns from? I really love the first 2 that you did...
Hey Roo, it's always nice to see someone try something a little different. Thanks for sharing.
And don't listen to people who don't offer constructive criticism.
Welcome to Leatherworker, Pucci!
That is one gorgeous tote! Your wife is a very lucky woman to have such a talented husband! Great work. Thanks for sharing!
Are you sure you heard that right? A lot of us smooth the leather through a process called "slicking" before we tool the leather. I'm with the other guys here. I've never heard of doing it after tooling...
Nice looking knives. Just curious what you paid? I've been thinking of upgrading from the Stohlman knife I currently use. Doesn't hold an edge very long.
