  1. Clay B had made some nice instctions stuff here in the form. There are some good books out there and all will work for a start. As you do more you will try new things and find new ways to help make what you like. Making what you like is the great thing about leather. The one thing I can give you that will help the most is use a good sharp swivle knife and be shere to keep it sharp. the more you use it the better you will get. I my self have cut up a cow side or two just geting better with the knife. Most of all have fun and I hope you enjoy your self. Russell

  6. the saddle looks a lot like the colorado saddle I have in the barn here is a pic. Checking with the family itis thought this one is in the 60s and if you have time you might change your blevens buckle around and run the leather on the out side less leather around the top of the stirrup and faster changing. If i can get this putor to give the pics I just put in back there is more pics in it to show you

  9. My dad makes what he calls hopes there like a book mark with paying hands on the top and hope or asap stamped in then. He gives then to the friend he meets for fokes with cancer. We all need a little hope and the leather feels good to hold. Asap in allways say a pray. Dad has made over 400 and given them all a was. the big reason in when my mom hand cancer some one gave her a rock with hope on it. Mom asked him to start and he has never stoped given a little hope out.

He cuts the grove on side and top then 45s them both and with a light glue he puts them together then he use a dremel and drills the holes around the case. He used one string and 2 needles he makes shere to all was us the top or side needle first all the way around the case or the stitch looks funny. Russ
