superchute replied to Traveller's topic in General Saddlery Discussion
well my self I would use leather new on it to deep condition it and Im shere that will stop a lot of the noise. I can tell you as old calf roper my saddle has seen more baby power the most babys bottoms and it is over 30 year old and still going good so. Other then the white power traces on the saddle it will be ok Russell -

Great Basin Gear Show Chinks
superchute replied to andystevens's topic in Clothing, Jackets, Vests and Chaps
wow Great work and thanks for shareing love the chinks Russell -
Frist off vary nice job and love the light color. Will help in the heat of the day. Thank you for shareing them. To help you zman chinks are hooked around the waist and go down just past the knee to potecte the let when roping and give you a little better grip to the saddle if the horse bucks. the reason for over the knee is if it rains the water goes off the chink to the ground if shorter it goes in your boots. Thay are vary handy working cows the carrying sharp neidles and tuff to help save your leg from misshaps. All so helps save your leg when roping and pullling stuff with your horse. Mine are dark brown but the next pair will be light tan. The dark is to hot in the summer time. Russell

well here is my smiling face and hope to see lots of you at sheridan and will try to a pic of Chuck my dad that will be wiht me. Russell Millar aka superchute ps no using my pic to keep the mice out of the barn -
I would love a copy of them to make some like them. My dad is kinda short and is thinking he would like to hook a second strup to the bottom of the first to make it ezer to get on for him that a set of taps like that would help hide the other strups but would look great for parides and riding on the ranch. The hiden sturp would make so dad would not have to jump or lift his leg so high. Vary nice job looks great. Russell

well Bob here is a odd way to look at it. Years a go a friend of mine that shoes horse told me shoeing should cost 10 times what a hair cut in the place your at cost so if the hair cut is 9 buck we should pay around 90 for shoes on a horse. wiht using is I think most shop rates should be about 5 to 6 times the hair cut in the place you live. Now if your wife cuts your hair im not shere how much that cost with the hunny do list you know . lol Russell
