Braiding rawhide intricately is a talent very few have. Congratulate yourself on a job welll done. Once I get past braiding rings, my braiding goes south. I jsut don't have the time or ability it seems to learn.

HA! Good sense of humor. Like the comeback.

I use Master's. Wouldn't go back to Barge if you shot me.

Happy B-day. Congrats on another year.

I'm sorry I'm a little distrcated by the thought of Scouter wearing blinders.

AP (All Purpose) cement. Which is what Barge and Masters cement is. If there is a debate, I chose masters every time.

I have ot cut rawhide when it is mostly dry. Just a little moisture to it or it will stretch and nothing will be even. As for the australian strander, they work pretty good on most things, but I have a lacemaker that I use for long strands and a really sharp razor blade, if it gets just the least bit dull you need to replace it.

April it is. Hopefully I will remember it.

Black and Buffalo

Did you make it, or someone else? I really like it. I try to use as much custom hardware as I can on my items. If I support those guys, maybe in turn they will support me. -
which spacing between straps do you like better?

I checked out the website, and it If that bag is stuffed it will hold a lot of weight. Do you have problems with the chrome tan stretching at the loop that the dees are in. Not, trying to insinuate anything about the quality of your bags, they are really nice. I am just thinking about structural soundness in the dee retainers. Could be that there is no problem at all. But I have seem some lower quality bags fail at that point, and they were not cheap in price...just in production. -
I love it. Growing up, we raised Mules and Belgian Horses along with cattle and horses and shetland ponies. We crossed Mammoth Jacks and Belgian Mares for some really stout mules to snake logs out for lumber. I miss those days. Really nice work. Maybe I can come down to the Meeting next month and you can bring that Mule! I would really like to see it first-hand. Thanks for sharing TM

Thanks Guys. Bob, I guess I could, but I don't have the dies or a lathe for that matter. I was hoping to get one already made. One of you posted the link that had the wood handled maul, and I have used those in the past, but once you get a nice leather handled one you can't go back. Thanks, I check another Tandy's to see if they have some available in their warehouse. I should have bought some when they were half off/discontued sale. I saw an old osborne leather handled maul one time and it felt real good in my hand, but it was a no sale item. Also, Bob, if you want to make them, I'll buy it. As if you don't have any thing else to do.

Even if you rough up the smooth side, when the leather is too wet it will peel off. Make sure that your leather is mostly dry before you apply it. I always block out my gullet and mark it off before I put it in. If you have done these things then maybe your glue needs to be thinned down a little. hope this helps. TM

Maybe the notebook will make that poor Chiefs fan a little happier.

They make eyelets with washers as well. Check your OTB catalog. They have them in there.
-
doesn't look like your machined liked hte Elk either. THe other one looks good though. We've all been there.
-
could not use your link, but i inmagine it looks painful. Good Luck, sound like a liability to me. Maybe you need a shell like those Ninja Turtles.
-
They look like Flower centers to me. with sunbursts/camos on the border. Am I close?
-
The longest one I could find in the OTB Catolog is 5/16" SB, but no washers to go with it. I don't think that will be even close.

Thanks Luke, the last Tandy guy I spoke with there weren't any more. I would like to find someone who is going to continue to make them, though I will take what I can get for now. Luckily, I bought two extra rawhide heads for my two pounder when I purchased it.

I just whack then on my steel plate. Anything hard will do. Every one is right though, if the post is too long they will shift on you.
