I cannot say enough about how much I love mine from Dale Grabowski of Grandpa's Pastime. I can't find his contact info right now, but someone ought to have it.

Those are wonderful! I wasn't able to see a bigger pic by clicking on it though... -
A middle aged fellow I met at an event recently would like me to take him on as a student. To this point, my experience has been solely voluntary at 4H and as a Girl Scout camp counselor; as well as leading a club for kids at a local church. So, my question is: what to charge per hour? Is 20.00 too high? This would be evenings, in my home workshop, so that my husband is home to care for our son. I have the room, and plenty of tools, as well as scraps to practice on. (though he is going to be getting his own set of starter tools and will pay for his own kits)

Well, at 42 (and my son is 5), I'm feeling downright young here ;-) It's been interesting, kidding aside, to see the way the votes fall on the chart.

So sad to hear this!

We wanted to get a jar for our office (at the college where I worked) that read "Ashes of Problem Students" !

Thanks!

Nice work! I love that passage too.

I'm putting together a design for a customer, and need a basic pic of a motorcycle. Not "brand" specific (i.e. doesn't need to be a Harley). Anyone got something to share? Yes, I've googled it, but didn't see anything right off that I didn't have to pay to download.

Looking For J Warburton

Thanks! -
I used a pattern called "Claddagh Lovespoon" (spelled as Calddagh on the pattern) on a one time piece, and now a stained glass making friend of mine would like to use it. We want to check with Gray Hawk first. Anyone know how to get in tough with him/her?

That's beautiful!

I also own the set. I've had alot of trouble with them. It's one of those "good concept, poor execution" things. I believe the point of the directions is that it's easier to line them up properly if you scribe a line to follow first. I used them to make a border on a guitar strap. Customer was happy, but I truly wasn't. I've only used them on very small pieces since.

Congrats :-) Nice big boy!

Thanks :-) I'll pass that on too!

It's a Western saddle. I know, I've never seen one without the fleece lining exposed.

I'd posted that my mom had gotten a poorly made saddle, which indeed she chose to send back and buy a heavier model. The new one is really nice (sorry, can't recall the name). It doesn't have fleece lining though, but the underside is smooth (still padded of course). Anyhow, she has no trouble fitting the saddle and pad on her Arabian gelding, yet it will not sit right on his two mare siblings. The pad slips down under the saddle. She would like a recommendation on a good pad. She said it fits okay without a pad, and rode the one mare without yesterday. She wants to know is it bad to ride without a pad at all? So I'm doing my "good daughter" duty and relaying the question!

Buying A New Shelter For Fairs/festivals
wildrose replied to wildrose's topic in Marketing and Advertising
I was really into the Quest model from Dick's 'til I read those reviews! I definitely need something that'll hold up in wind/rain. When you're set up at an outdoors event, you have to be ready for weather. The only part of our EZ Up I've had to replace is the top. We had the white one originally, but replaced it with a blue "industrial strength" one a year or so after we first got it. That top has held up ever since. I guess it's all about paying for better quality! -
I have an EZ Up tent (the genuine one, not a knock off) that has lasted me over 10 years. It is becoming a pain to put up, as the legs have bent slightly over time; it's heavy in the carry bag, and the bag itself is ripped up horribly. I'm set to sell at a local market every Saturday all summer. This means: toss the bag in the car every Sat. a.m. (along with my tables and stock); set it up, take it down, toss it back in, and put it in the garage 'til the next weekend. I'm not looking forward to this! I need something easier to lug around and pref. under 200.00. Our local sporting goods store (Dick's) has a Quest shelter on sale, for under 100.00 inc. the bag, but upon checking the web, I found it got horrible reviews. I do enough outdoor events that I need something that won't break after one use. Suggestions?

I can see what you mean, in the close up shot, but it is still a really great piece. Carry it with pride, for certain!

Great job! Love the coloring. I'd like to see a closeup too.

Girlfriend of mine is looking for a dressmaker in the NJ area who handles Celtic style wedding dresses. Suggestions?
