Kate pm'd me a fantastic idea, that I think will be both interesting and cut down on shipping costs: We could make artist "trading cards". They are 2-1/2 x 3-1/2-inch "cards" (in this case of leather) that can decorated any way the artist chooses. I know there are some leather artists making them; some of my friends on Facebook have been showing off their "collection". We could go a little bigger if some would feel more comfortable with that? Anyhow, I thought it was a really cool thought.

It occured to me that it's been a while since we did "Pay it Forward". If you weren't in on the last one, the idea was that we made a list of those who wanted to participate, then after name taking ended, you were to make and send something to the next person on the list after you. (Or was it the person before you? Been so long I forgot!)

Happy to help!

Here are some I have. I also have wild rose pics (of course) and some of live roses that I took pics of.

I finally got to see the movie in 3D today. Was going to see it cheaply, but my sis, who was watching our son for us, said "you're not allowed!" OH MY LORD!!!!! What a movie. Ranks as one of the best movies I've ever seen. I'm glad I listened to her. The effects were incredible, the visuals amazing, and though there were stereotypical characters I absolutely am going to buy it when it comes out. I think the Banshees were my favorite part. Anything that looks like a dragon is good with me!

I'm lousy at sharpening, which is why I use a ceramic blade. Strop it a little and it's great. I did have a student chip the tip off one once, but other than that I find I prefer them over the steel. I do keep steel blades and low end knives for beginner classes.

"I'm not in 4-H anymore, I've grown up, and can afford to buy quality tools." I was never in 4-H (except as a leader), am grown up (at least, I'd like to think so, at 42!) and I still use Craftools. As some of us have stated, it's what we can afford and I've not had a customer complain yet. Come the day I can afford it, I suppose I'll seek better quality tools, but at this stage, I have a 5 yr old son, alot of debt, and thus other things to spend the money on.

Beautiful! Love the coloring.

Thanks! I still think they could use some layout work, but they've got what I need on them. There was a Celtic graphic in the middle of the front, but I had to do away with it.

I buy two sided Ink Jet printer stock and use MSWord to print them. I like to vary my ink colors. Sometimes I do them dark blue, sometimes maroon, and sometimes basic black. I prefer card stock that is not basic white, usually buy ivory. Front: business card.doc Back: business card side 2.doc business card.doc business card side 2.doc

In my years of using CraFTtools, I've never bent a one. I did have the tail break off a little cat tool that kids mostly used (likely improperly) as I teach frequently. I've used pretty much exclusively CraFTools and have one several ribbons with the results. And I've never had a customer complain about the results either. Are other tools higher quality? Sure! But for some of us, CraFTools are what we can afford.

Looking for pattern not made anymore

Are you talking about that little kit with a metal clip inside, a pocket on the front and I think it had some slots in it? I might have that if so. -
That's not one I have, sorry. I think you're right about the cause of the damage though.

Do you mean Craftaids or Doodle Pages or both? How old?

While I've heard nothing but good about Sheridan, and I do want to go there sometime - I live on the East Coast, and find myself usually going to the IFoLG show. Not sure where it's at this coming year though?

Here are some shots of the "fun" we had in Southwestern Virginia with what was dropped on us Christmas week: My husband did not only our own driveway, but those of several elderly neighbors, with this wicked flat. The snow was pretty fluffy, so it wasn't too bad. He got it fixed in the afternoon and did some more driveways. I should mention it was his birthday!!! Our son having fun in the snow. The lump he's standing on is his froggy sandbox. My car. Hubby was smart and pulled out the wipers so they wouldn't freeze to the cars.

Very nice! Tandy used to have a kit for this, but yours is so much nicer and more detailed. -
Give me a hint before I go searching: what's it of?

welcome to the group! We pass through Canton every time we come up from Radford, VA to my inlaws in Girard (outside of Youngstown).

How much will you pay for this W. Rose knife?
wildrose replied to chouinardragon's topic in Leather Tools
Are you asking what it is worth? I don't have an answer for that, but wanted to make sure of the question. -
You are my kind of movie watcher: the one that still has an imagination. To me, movies are about escapism. I'm not looking for every detail to be letter perfect. I'm TOTALLY psyched about seeing Avatar, and hope to this weekend. Will add my thoughts then. I also loved The Crow.
