  1. I would hang that up in my leather room if I were you.
  2. I have started watching these auctions. Thanks for pointing them out. It may be a good money saver, we will see.
  3. Ok. I accidentally buried a few stitches. The outer layer is 4oz cxl brown. The inner layer is 4oz burgundy cxl. It doesn't really show the contrast I was shooting for. Thread is tiger .8mm cream. The thread just jumped down into that brown and disappeared. Also, the new pony didn't play nice with the horse hide. (Always cover your jaws, dummy). Here is the back side. The loop casting really helped. Hopefully, a little wear and tear in my pocket will make it all blend together. The whole thing is a little rough, I know. I haven't worked with the cxl much yet. I'm finding it a little unforgiving. As far as the template goes, it was spot on. There is a tiny burr from the laser that can be sanded off. They send instructions with the templates for that. The other cool thing (for me anyway) was I got to put my French model knipknife thru some paces. Man, that thing is a dream.
  4. Glad to help. They are pretty friendly over there.

  6. Maverick has some purple bison.
  7. So, how did you create the tines?
  8. Sometimes we just need a different set of eyes looking at the problem from the outside.
  9. Yeah, you called me out. I'll have a wallet to show tomorrow night. Ha
  10. 1. Strap gauge 2. Wallet (front pocket) 3. Wallet (front pocket, but different) 4. Snuff can holster (I live in red neckville). 5. Guitar pick keychain 6. Belt templates 7. Zippo case I won't have any pictures for a bit.
  11. I know most people make their own templates. I have made a few of my own and haven't always had success. It's not that I'm not capable. It's because I only have so much time at the bench. I work a full time physical job, am in my 40s, and have a four year old. I can't blow time on templates that fail (I already have a card wallet that won't fit cards). Plus, nice templates provide easy repeatability down the line. So, Friday night I ordered 7 new templates from Black River Lasers. They arrived this afternoon. They have extra stock discounted on their eBay page right now. They were even cool enough to send me a bonus gift (thanks for that). So, if your bench time is limited, like mine, consider giving them a shot.
  12. Nice
  13. Really like your logo. While laser engravers are pretty cool, they are no substitute for that nice stitching you did. Great job. Welcome to the forum.
  14. This won't be the most economical way to go , but at the mall they have these little kiosks that make name plates and the like. Here is a link I just found. https://www.nametag.com/name-tags/blank-name-tags.php#metal
  15. Very pretty color. Not being a saddle man it looks great to me.
  16. Never worked with a mill, or a lathe for that matter. Forgive my ignorance.
  17. I would never look to discourage a Craftsman, but some things are best left to a CNC.
  18. I call myself a tradesman. I tried to get out of being a carpenter my entire career. So, I'm an industrial electrician, remodeling carpenter, framer, trim man, shade tree plumber, machine repairman, appliance installer, pretty much a little bit of everything. I currently work for a floor covering store that has a granite shop and remodels showers and kitchens. Oh yeah, I'm also a granite man. I love getting to do something different every day.
  19. Man, that is sweeeeeet!!!
  20. That is awesome. The alligator one isn't bad either. Thanks for sharing.
  21. That's a wicked set up, Sanch. I like it.
  22. It's about time!!!! Looks great , other Matt.
